Step-By-Step - XEON Promo 01 Colors
Pencil & Ink Art by: Cedric Nocon
Digital Colors by: Peter Nguyen
FACTS
Software: Photoshop 5.5
Production Time: @ 3 - 4 hours.
STEP 1: FLATS
The very start of any color work is to separate the shapes as solid colors.

STEP 2: ROCK TEXTURE
Peter applied the base texture for the rocks.

STEP 3: PLANETARY TEXTURES & ROCK HIGHLIGHTS
Added separate textures to the planets and also rendered the highlights on the rocks in the foreground.

STEP 4: RENDERING THE PLANETS
Added depth and highlights to the planets.

STEP 5: RENDERING THE BODYCAST
Color work on the Bodycast armor began with the red section first.

STEP 6: DETAILING THE BODYCAST
Peter applied a gloss-coat effect to the red sections and added the gold-colored armor plating.

STEP 7: EYES & FILAMENT
Step 7 focused on rendering the "bug" eyes and coloring Xeon's muscle "filament" — the purple multi-layer of muscles beneath and between his Bodycast armor plating. (Peter calls it the "radiator" look. Haha.)

STEP 8: ENERGY EFFECTS
Special effects such as glows and color holds were added to render Xeon's power.

STEP 9: STARS
Added stars in the background.

STEP 10: FINALIZE
Space was added along with other eye-candy special effects such as the rays of light from the sun, much detailed "compound eyes" effect, and purple color holds over the armor to simulate a bio-luminescent glow.

Bodycast Xeon --- 01 Pencils

Pencil art to the first promotional image for Bodycast XEON! The title of this artwork is Advent Hero.
This is the first-ever, full visual appearance of the character. You guys are seeing this hero come alive in real-time production process. From his early designs at the beginning of this year to what he looks now, a few cosmetic changes have been applied to streamline and/or enhance his Bodycast armor.
