The Carp officials said Saturday that they were about to sign James Robert Brower who had played for New York Yankees in 2007.
According to newspapers, Jim Brower will come to Hiroshima on Tuesday, and sign with the Carp on Wednesday.
He sent the Carp a contract via fax with his signature, and that is preliminary one.

On Sunday, Scott Seabol hit a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the tenth as the Carp beat the Baystars 8-4.

The Carp lost to the Yokohama Baystars 3-4 at Hiroshima Municipal Stadium on Friday.
Mike Schultz pitched two scoreless innings.
He threw 23 pitches, and allowed no hits with four strikeouts and no walks.

A Carp pitching coach told reporters that Colby Lewis would be added the active roaster after NPB All-Star Game.

Colby was taken off the roaser on July 5th because of his body fatigue.
He will join this year's All-Star team as Outstanding Pitcher of the players' choice.
If players who are selected as All-Star members refuse to join the team, they get 10-game ban.
This year's all-star games will be played on July 31st and August 1st.
