The Hiroshima Carp said Thursday that they have re-signed Mike Schultz to a one-year contract worth 40 million yen with performance bonuses.

"I'm looking forward to coming back to Japan and joining our team," Mike said Thursday through a spokesman.

This season ended on Oct. 6 and the Carp lost to the Baystars 1-2 at Yokohama Stadium.
The fourth-place Carp finished 69-70-5.
After the game, they announced that manager Marty Brown is keeping his job for next season.
