Well, today is the end of the week called Butter Week, Pancake week, or Cheesefare Week. It is traditionally tied to the beginning of Spring. But well, at the moment it doesn't look like spring at all.. Maslenitsa activities include snowball fights, sledding, riding on swings and plenty of sleigh rides. The mascot of the celebration is usually a brightly dressed straw effigy of Maslenitsa, which is burnt on the last day of the week. There's a bunch of them on one of the squares in Yaroslavl
