Online games are games played on computers that can be played by players via the Internet or another computer network. There are hundreds of online games and thousands of them are updated regularly and played by players from all over the world. There are several online games that are designed to satisfy the specific interests of particular age groups.
Some of the most popular games online that are actively played by millions of gamers all over the world include shooting, role-playing, car racing, arcade games as well as sports and trivia games. Online gambling is a popular game for a lot of online gamers. This includes chess, card games and online roulette among other games. Another area that has proven to be very popular with gamers online is the game's in-game communication and community.
Two major studies were conducted in order to explore the relationship between online gaming and academic performance. In the first study that was conducted online we invited a group of college students from various colleges across the United States to participate. The participants were asked to complete a questionnaire in which they were required to provide their level of Internet addiction. We classified students based on the survey into four groups. One group was addicted to Internet pornography; another group was not as interested but had a lot of interest in chat rooms which is where they usually engage in sexual discussions with other people while a third group was not as serious, but was aware of pornography due to their frequent use of the Internet. Finally, a fourth group was not as acquainted with pornography, but was interested in chat rooms and/or pornography.
According to the results of the survey, we estimate that online gamers are very drawn to games with sexual content. We discovered that about 24 percent of college students play pornographic online games. We also found that this type of behavior is popular across all races and genders. We also determined that the gender gap in this survey was primarily due to the fact that female gamers tend to play more online games that are sexually oriented than do male players.
The second study was an online gaming study which used an online sample of four games which included one from each Microsoft, Sega, Sega or Nintendo. A survey was sent to about 1,000 people. Based on the results of the survey, we classified the respondents into three main categories: those who use Xbox Live to play Xbox Live and those who play on PlayStation Network for PlayStation 2; and those who use Nintendo Wii to play Nintendo Wii. Based on this study we estimated that there's a six percent chance of playing pornography among gamers. This is basing on the fact that the majority of Xbox Live and PlayStation Network players will log on to pornographic websites while playing.
Based on our previous study this result appears to be accurate. However, we also found that there are a few issues with the results. For example, it is not rare for gamers to think that they are playing World of Warcraft when in reality, they are playing Counter Strike or another similar game. The second survey that focused on games that are often played online, yielded interesting data but also revealed some anomalies.
One of the biggest issues with these studies is that people often believe that the gaming habits of adults will pass on to their children. Gaming is a great way for people to be entertained and pass the time. This is the case for many people, but it may not be for everyone. This means that if you ask your child what video games they enjoy, they may say sports when you inquire about computer games, they could refer to computer games. It is important to remember that all of us have different interests and preferences.
What could we do to fix this issue? One suggestion is simply to add more variety. There are numerous video game consoles on the market, but none has ever offered truly diverse gameplay. We all know what a 1st person shooter is. But what about MMORPGs, RTS games or other types of online multiplayer gaming that are massively multiplayer? By giving each game a more variety - such as having two races - you might discover that your child more inclined to play more difficult games. By giving them more options and variety, you will ensure their mental wellbeing, as well as their ability to take pleasure in playing video games.
