And that's also why when I was dating, I made it clear on the dating site that I used that I'm not interested in people who live outside of my country. It's just too far.
But then, by means of the mysterious ways of the world, I first saw 梨早ちゃん on the dating site. We still can't agree on who saw who first, but somehow it happened.
When I was a little younger, I was really obsessed with boobs and butt, and I always thought that those guys who say they love the eyes of their girlfriend/wife were giving the "politically correct" answer. Idiots! But as I've gotten a little older, I've somehow realized just how wrong I was, and how right they were. I've realized that a girl's eyes are the most important and beautiful part of her body. "The eyes are the windows into the soul" the saying says in English.
And boy were they :) The second I saw 梨早ちゃん, on the dating site, I was under her spell. I couldn't control my thoughts about her. I quickly scanned though her profile and decided to think about how to approach her.
A day later, I received a message "Hello!" short, but all we needed, haha!
I was very busy at the time, and so our first messages had some time in between. But soon, we started talking on Skype. Under the pretense of practicing English, we talked and we talked, and we talked some more. First an hour, then two, three, and in a few short months we had hit 10+ hour Skype calls. Asking anything and everything, talking about points of view on things, baby names, cultural differences, and dating.
Before meeting her, I had already played with the idea of coming over to visit him here for the new year and our birthdays (7 & 14 Jan.). The plan never happened, but as 梨早ちゃん and I liked each other more and more, I decided I HAD to meet this girl. It wasn't a choice, it was my heart that was making the decisions.
Shortly after booking the ticket, I had completely fallen in love with 梨早ちゃん. We were so different, but somehow that's why it worked between us. Then one night I got home after going out, still half drunk, I couldn't hold it in any more. I had always planned to tell her that I loved her once we'd met in real life, but I just couldn't hold it in anymore. And so on the 21st of February, we were a couple. She was mine!
She accepted!

Then a week later, I first met her. Originally we had planned for me to take a train from Kansai International Airport to Osaka Namba train station, since we were staying at the Cross Hotel. (Great hotel by the way)
But shortly before I flew out from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, she decided she wanted to pick me up. It meant an extra two hours of travel (Osaka <=> KIX) for her, but she did it anyway (see how amazing she is?).
And so, on March 2nd 2014 I finally held the girl of my dreams firmly in my arms after emerging from the Arrivals immigration check. 4 Months after first talking to her, of which two were really though because we both knew we liked each other. I had booked the ticket in January, and then we had to wait for 2 months :(
I thought it would be fun to share a picture with you guys, one of the first pictures we took together
