On June in 2021
I visited Jionji in Sagae city.
It is one of three ancient temples which are proud of
over 1,100 years old in Yamagata prefecutre.
There is a benefit of rejuvenation.
It isa said to have been opened by the decree of Emperor Shomu.
It is the largest temples in Tohoku.
There are 32 cultural properties are designated by the country
and there are 33 by the prefecture.
Jionji has three-storied pagoda
which is designated cultural property of Yamagata.
It was reconstructed in 1830.
Sanmon is designated cultural property of prefecuture.
The two layers of this mountain gate have the function
of a dressing room during a dance performance.
The Main Hall is a National Important Cultureal Property.
It is open until 4PM. I was delayed, so i didn't enter the main hall.
Hondou, it is the oldest in this temmple.
There are 33 secret buddha statues.
Jionji where you can face the precious Buddhist statues of
the Heian and Kamakura periods in silence.
We can experience a calming time away from the hustle and bustle of the city,
daily worries and stress.
