Luke Traveled from Phoenix to Los Angeles
and then on to Japan on 8 different occasions.
Eventually the artist relocated to Matsudo (Chiba)
Japan for extended periods of time as a base
to photograph and to film this fascinating cultural phenomena.
Luke has recently compiled a work of his photography,
which documents the parallels between Chicano Low-Rider culture
here in the Southwest and abroad.
His most recent film Watashi-wa Lowrider examines
how culture can transcend borders will be hitting film
festivals this spring, starting in Phoenix
and spreading to other festivals worldwide.
The artists represented in this' exhibition
"Chino Latino" demonstrate a profound commitment to
a global vision of cross cultural blending
and are on the forefront of expressing
and broadening the scope of Chicano art as
a dynamic and diverse art form.
