Lenovo unveils its new ThinkPad laptop

Welcome to a laptop battery specialist of the dell laptop battery

Computer maker Lenovo is rolling out its next line of ThinkPad laptops, including an ultrabook they claim is the lightest available.

The T14-inch, ThinkPad X1 Carbon only weighs 3 pounds, and boasts support for 3G wireless networks and a RapidCharge battery that powers the laptop to a nearly full charge in 35 minutes. It also features a backlit keyb0ard and high-definition display.

The X1 Carbon will be available this summer.

The ultrabook is part of a long with battery such as Dell BATDW00L Battery , Dell 1X793 Battery , Dell BAT1194 Battery , Dell Precision M20 Battery , dell F5635 battery , dell YF976 battery , dell C5974 battery , dell U4873 battery , Dell Inspiron XPS M170 Battery , Dell Inspiron XPS M1710 Battery line of ThinkPad laptops Lenovo will launch this year. The company will also sell a convertible laptop with pen that users can turn into a tablet with touchscreen.

At $1,499 for 15-inch models — Samsung sells a $1,399, 13.3-inch model — Series 9 costs more compared with the Dell, but it has the larger and nicer display and, with 8GB, double the memory. It measures a little more than .58 inches thick and weighs 3.5 pounds.

The Samsung has a few other extras, including an SD card reader and a mini HDMI port for connecting to an HDTV. It also has three USB ports (two of the 3.0 variety) and comes with a dongle for connecting an ethernet cable.

Both computers support WiDi, an Intel technology for wirelessly mirroring the contents of your computer screen on a TV, provided you have an adapter connected to the TV.

In my tests, the Dell booted up to Windows 7 Home Premium in about 20 seconds — pretty fast — though not quite the eight seconds Dell claims. The machine wakes up from sleep quickly.

The Samsung booted from scratch (to Windows 7 Professional) in about 12 seconds and also sprang to life from sleep in about a second. A proprietary FastStart feature promises to let you keep the cover closed for up to a week without worrying about charging and resuming where you left off when you lift the lid. The computer saves everything to memory before you lose power so, in theory, you won't lose work.

Negatives: I wasn't wild about either touchpad; on the Series 9, I had to load a new software driver for it since I wasn't reviewing a final unit. Battery life was disappointing. In my harsh test, in which I cranked brightness to the max, played streaming video in a loop via Wi-Fi and turned off power-saving measures, the XPS lasted just about three hours, the Series 9 about 4½ hours. You can do better under "normal" cicumstances.

Despite a few drawbacks, the Series 9 and XPS are solid contenders in the ever-expanding ultrabook category.
