six
Publish the alphabet on the piece of paper. Use a black felt tip pen or marker, not a ballpoint. Use a template for significantly less clean up later on (see Assets).
seven
Scan your handwritten alphabet into your computer system. Scan inside the bitmap format, in grayscale, at a minimal of 300 dpi resolution. Alternatively, use a digital camera to get a image with the alphabet and import the photograph into your pc.
eight
Import your scanned picture into an image-editing system, such as Gimp, Photoshop or Corel PhotoPaint. Clean up the letters and apply filters to alter the appearance of the font if sought after. Conserve the file, retaining the bitmap format.
9
Open your bitmap in a vector graphics editor including Inkscape, CoralTrace (CoralDraw) or Adobe Streamline and trace your bitmap image. This will vectorize your image; form should be saved within the vector format for scalability and resizing versatility.
10
Copy or import your traced bitmaps into a font-creating system. Fontographer, FontLab Studio or freeware plans like Softy or FontForge are common font-creation applications. Alter spacing and save while in the TrueType format (TrueType employs the ".ttf" file extension).
