Welcome to a laptop battery specialist of the Toshiba Laptop Battery
The 14-inch display of the LifeBook U772 is a bit disappointing. First off, most corporate class laptops feature a matte screen that allows it to be used in an office environment without glare and reflections problems. Unfortunately this display uses a glossy coating that can make using it a bit of a problem. The display features a native resolution of 1366x768 which is typical of most consumer laptops in this size range but it is lower than some of its competition. Finally, the display seems a bit dim which means that it certainly is not going to be functional outdoors in sunlight especially with its glossy coating. The graphics themselves are driven by the Intel HD Graphics 4000 that are built into the Core i5 processor. This is more than sufficient for a business class laptop unless it is going to be used with some sort of 3D graphics. It does offer some acceleration of media encoding when used with Quick Sync compatible applications. One small note is that the laptop features only an HDMI video output which is common for most consumer displays but DisplayPort used in corporate displays is only found on the port replicator.
They keyboard for the Fujistu LifeBook U772 uses a fairly typical isolated key design. The keys are of a nice size and it is especially nice to see a full size right enter and shift key. The only downside is that the keyboard has a fair amount of flex in it that makes it a bit awkward for those that type at very high speeds. The trackpad is of a nice size and features integrated buttons. It is important to note that the trackpad does not accept a click on the upper portion of the table like many other clickpads but only in the lower designated areas.

In digital video playback tests, the laptop was able to achieve roughly four and a half hours before going into standby. This puts it above the four hours that the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon achieved in the same test but below other 14-inch ultrabooks such as the Dell XPS 14 at six and a half hours. It certainly is less than the Apple MacBook Pro 15 with Retina but that has a much larger battery pack allowing to to go over seven hours. In more typical usage, it should provide roughly seven hours of running time which is just under a full work day.
In terms of the competition, the closest is the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon. It has roughly the same dimensions as the LifeBook U772 but is slightly smaller with a bit higher performance and a much better screen but with a $1500 price tag compared to $1150. Looking at more consumer oriented ultrabooks, there is the Dell XPS 14 which is larger and heavier but with a better screen, more storage space and longer battery life for nearly the same price. Of course there also is the Apple MacBook Air 13 which is smaller, has a higher resolution display and better battery life but in a slightly more expensive price.
