New adapter lets you play

Welcome to a laptop battery specialist of the Sony laptop battery

inShare. This Toshiba Satellite Pro C850 laptop packs a lot of punch for a sub-£400 device. Available at Dabs with free delivery, it is powered by a third generation dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, a 3210M model clocked at 2.5GHz (with a turbo-boost speed of 3.1GHz) and 3MB L3 cache.

There’s also a single 4GB DDR3-1600 memory module (with one free slot and expandable to 16GB), a 500GB hard disk drive (with a 5400RPM spinning speed), a DVD writer, a 15.6in 1,366 x 768 pixel LED backlit display powered by an Intel HD Graphics 4000 graphics subsystem, a webcam and two speakers.

Other features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, a numeric keypad, GbE, a 48Whr battery such as Sony VGP-BPS6 battery, Sony VGP-BPL6 battery, Sony VGN-UX92S battery, Sony VGP-BPL21 battery, Sony VGP-BPS21 battery, Sony VGP-BPS21A battery, Sony VGN-FW90S battery, Sony VGP-BPS13 battery, Sony VGP-BPS13A/B battery, Sony VGN-CS190 battery, Sony VGP-BPL13 battery with a battery life of 5.5 hours, two USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 port, VGA, HDMI and a card slot. Toshiba has also thrown in an array of applications ranging from its own Eco Utility and PC Health monitor to Nero 12 Essentials and Intel App Up Center.

The laptop is powered by Windows 8 64-bit and although it is light at 2.3kg, it is 33mm thick, which is thicker than what we’d expect.

Adding to the list of crazy concoctions for console products of late, comes an adapter for the Wii and Wii U remotes that connects directly to the PS2 controller, allowing gamers everywhere to play their Wii and Wii U games with the Sony controller. The news comes from a report posted yesterday by gameranx.com, and the innovation owes its creation to Datel Japan, a company that takes pride in producing the world's best-selling and most creative products for gamers.

The adapter will be compatible with both the Wii and Wii U, and will support the original Wii Remote, Wii Remote Plus, Wii MotionPlus connector and PS2 DualShock 2 controller. As Nintendo recently barred the use of GameCube controllers in conjunction with the Wii U, this may be quite a joyous occasion for Super Smash Bros Melee fans. Wii U owners can now wipe the dust off of old, seemingly-obsolete PS2 controllers, plug it into their Wii U remote via the adapter, and play GameCube titles on their systems. The interconsole insanity never ends.

Between the awkward detachable hybrid PS4 controller, the almost-featureless Wii Mini and this, I might be tempted to buy this product, if just for kicks. The controller adapter will be available in Japan on Dec 8 for 1980 yen, which would probably end up being about $20 USD if the product ever makes it to the US.
