Power 16Kbit FRAM in New Small

Welcome to a laptop battery specialist of the Sony laptop battery

The 16Kbit FRAM MB85RC16 includes an I2C interface and features the smallest standby and operating current in its class of products. In standby mode, the current is only 0.1uA, significantly improving battery life for products with long standby times, such as portable measurement equipment.

The MB85RC16's small form factor and low operating current make it ideal for systems such as space-constrained medical wearable equipment and portable measurement products that require real-time data logging. Compared with standard EEPROM, the current consumption during writing can be reduced by as much as 98 percent.

The Fujitsu FRAM has higher performance, greater speed, higher endurance and lower power consumption than conventional non-volatile memories. Fujitsu FRAM is widely used in applications that require high reliability, such as metering, industrial, and factory-automation equipment.

The package dimension of the MB85RC16 is just 3mm x 2mm. Compared with the older SOP-8 package, the new SON-8 package reduces the mounting space by up to 80 percent.

"Applications such as wearable equipment and portable battery like Sony PCGA-BP1N battery, Sony PCGA-BP2NX battery, Sony PCGA-BP2NY battery, Sony PCGA-BP2R battery, Sony PCGA-BP2S battery, Sony PCGA-BP2T battery, Sony PCGA-BP2V battery, Sony PCGA-BP4V battery, Sony PCGA-BP71 battery, Sony VGP-BPS22 battery, Sony VGP-BPL22 battery -operated equipment require smaller component products because of their limited mounting space," said Tong Swan Pang, senior manager of marketing at Fujitsu Semiconductor America. "The MB85RC16 in the ultra-small SON-8 package contributes to a longer battery life and facilitates the design of miniaturized end products."
