This film packs a punch. And sometimes, it's right in the gut. Shooting this as a found-footage film was a brilliant choice, keeping you intimately engaged with the 2 lead characters, mother & son. Both performances are outstanding, to the point that it can be uncomfortable. Which is exactly the point, isn't it? How can tackling the socially relevant issues of mental health, gun safety and thinking your son might be a "bad kid" be anything else? Since seeing M.O.M., the film has been like a worm in my brain. I can't stop thinking about the questions it raises and the conversations we need to be having about these issues. There are so many twists and turns, I'm going to watch this again tonight. When it's dark.
