Interestingly enough, a super good friend of mine until Covid Hit in Oklahoma, owned his own Custom Motorcyle Shop. (Rays Custom Cycle, or Rayscustomcycle.com).

I remember about 10 years ago a guy came in with a V-Twin motor case. I thought at first that it was a Harley Davidson Case, until the guy told me it was basically all one piece. I was astounded that the jugs (Cylinders) were not removeable from the case, it was all one cast.

The guy had some story about he had that motor in a Custom Chopper, and about 20 prior someong had stolen his motorcycle. He said he reported it to the police and always had an eye out for anyone that had anything that even resembled any piece of his CUSTOM motercycle.

Well the years wen by, 18 of them to be exact, and he had heard and seen nothing, no clue, no body ever making mention.

Then all of a sudden, just over 18 years, he recieved a call from the vehicle theft dept of the police department.

The detective on the call wanted to verfy his identity and he thought he had done something wrong.

Then the detective reminded him of his stolen motorcycle, and proceeded to tell him they had good and bad news.

THe guy was beside himeself..... He could not stand the Anxiety any longer.

He said tell me now, the det told him that; Unfortunately, they had not found his motorcycle! But they had found what they believed was the heartbeat of the Bike, .... It was his Nostalgia Cycle Motor case.... Absolutely beautiful!

This guy,was up in age, and he said he probably doesn't have enough time to ever see it together again, so he told Ray to give him an offer, .... Well Ray like a gOOd deal ..... which usually means the seller got taken advantage of.

So he refused to give an offer, partially because he knew it was killing the guy after 20 years missing, to need to sell the heart of his bike, so he said no Thank you!

The guys said look I'll let you have it for somewhere between $200 and $250!

Ray gave him $500, and told him if he ever wanted it back to come see him, and he would sell it back to him for the same amount.

Well none of us ever heard from the guy again.

Well is been a few years since Ray shut down the Shop, and sold a lot of stuff, Shop, House and so many of the motorcycle stuff accumulated over the years, but kept several near and dear to his heart bikes.

He even kept that Nostalgia Cycle motor which is now in a rolling chassis.

Recently he mentioned clearing some stuff out, of his new shop at his new house, and he mentioned selling that Nostalgia Cycle rolling chassis.

So I called him today, I was thinking it would be a great challenge for me to get that bike Really running, and beautiful once again.

But this will be my questions for all of you:

Is this a mistake? Do you think this prestine motor is of any value?  Do you think the juice will be worth the sqeeze?
