紹介するのは『カラヴァッジョ 天才画家の光と影』(Caravaggio)です。
The film is Caravaggio.
この作品は２０１０年２月１３日に渋谷Bunkamuraシアターで公開されたイタリア映画です。
This work is an Italian film which was first released in Japan in February 13, 2010 in Shibuya Bunkamura Theater.
もともとは２００７年にイタリアで放送された全２話のＴＶ・ミニシリーズで、それを劇場用映画として、一本にまとめたのがこの映画です。
Originally, this one was broadcast as two-episode TV movie in 2007 in Italy, and that one was made into one theatrical film Caravaggio.
今回は趣向を変えてみて、YouTubeの動画説明欄の文章を英訳して、それを持って映画レビューとさせていただきますね。

１６世紀イタリアを代表するバロック絵画の巨匠カラヴァッジョの生涯を描く伝記映画。主演に「輝ける青春」のアレッシオ・ボーニ。ミラノで絵画の修行をしていたカラヴァッジョは、幼い頃から恋い焦がれていたコロンナ侯爵夫人の援助で芸術の都・ローマに向かう。ローマでダルビーノの工房に入ったカラヴァッジョは、繰り出した夜の街で高級娼婦のフィリデに一目ぼれするが、かなわぬ恋と貧困に悩む日々が続く。そんなある日、デル・モンテ枢機卿が絵の評判を聴きつけて、カラヴァッジョに生活の援助を申しでる。
Review
Caravaggio is an autobiographic film that depicts the life of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio (1571-1610), a major Baroque painter in the 16th century Italy. The film stars Alessio Boni of La Meglio Gioventù. Trainee artist in Milan Caravaggio goes to Rome, the capital of art, with the help of Marchioness Colonna who he loves since little kid. In Rome, he enrolls in D'Arpino's studio, and fells in love with courtesan Fillide at an evening revel. But he spends his days languishing with unrequited love to her and suffering poverty. One day, Cardinal Delmonte offer's assistance to the artist after hearing about his paintings.
