日本に住んで約３０年になるアメリカ出身のBIG DADDYです。
３０年程日本に住んでいます。その間に、英語講師（予備校など）をしておりましたが、（現在は輸入関係の仕事をしています）
日本人の英語を話すスキルはなかなか３０年前と変わっていないのはなぜなのか。
（日本で英語を話せる人は、留学経験者が多いのではないでしょうか？）
僕には日本人の奥さんと６人の子どもがいます。
長女→ハワイ大学に入学、ユタ大学卒業→現在LA
長男→アメリカのARMY→現在ユタ
次男→中学生
３男→中学生
４男→小学生
５男→小学生
うちの子どもたちは完璧なバイリンガルです。
日本語も英語も話すだけではなく、読み書きもばっちりです。
お父さんがアメリカ人だったら、当たり前と思った方、それは違いますよ。
国際結婚でも、どちらかの言葉しか話せない子どもはとても多いです。話せても読み書きはできない場合も多いです。
僕の大好きな日本の子どもたちが、もっともっと英語を話せるようになったら嬉しいなと思い、勉強の仕方などをここに綴っていきます。
このブログは日本語と英語の両方で綴っていこうと思います。
そこからもヒントをもらってくれる方がいて、日本に恩返しできたら嬉しいという思いで、書いていこうと思います。

I'm an American that has been living in Japan for about 30 years. They call me "BIG DADDY"!
In my 30 years in Japan I have worked as an English Teacher (Prep Schools, etc... (Presently in importing).
Why is it that during these 30 years the level of English in Japan hasn't changed?
(Why is it that most of those that speak English are those that have been aboard as exchange students?)
I have a beautiful Japanese wife and 6 great kids!
My eldest (daughter) entered the University of Hawaii and transferred to the University of Utah where she graduated with Honors. Living in L.A.
2nd (oldest son) serves in the US Military. Presently stationed in Utah.
3rd (son) and 4th (son) are in Junior High School.
5th (son) and 6th (son) are in Elementary School.
All 6 children are perfectly bilingual.
Not only do they speak Japanese and English, but reading and writing are perfect as well.
For those that think this is natural because their father is American, think again.
Even in international marriages, one language is usually more dominant. Even if you can speak both, it doesn’t mean you can read and write both as well.
It would be great if all these wonderful Japanese children could learn to speak English better.
This blog is to teach you how to study more efficiently to do just that.
This blog will be in both Japanese and English.
