Hello everyone! Sorry for the lack of English blogs... but here it is XD
On Thursday, I went to my little brother's school to watch their annual school musical production.
This year they did "The Wizard of Oz"
It is my brother's first year in this school as we moved last September, so we didn't really know too much about the school so we were quite excited to see it.
From the conversation I heard around me, they do a musical every 2 years. That means this will be my brother's first and last production.... which makes me pretty sad actually.
(He is in Gr. 7 this year so will be graduating next year
)
But anyways, my brother is actually not the cast, but the backstage crew.
I remember they did roll call several month ago, and my brother was so keen to be on the crew.
After he submitted his application he was literally praying everyday until the result came out.
He was in the tech team in his old school, taking care of projectors and sound and light during assembly and he really liked it apparently
So yeah, because he wasn't in the cast, we weren't really thinking of going since.... well... we won't be able to see him at all lol
But after a several practice, he insisted us to come and watch.
So we went. And I'm so glad we went.
It was such a great show with so many talented actors and singers!

For a sec I thought I was in an Arts school!
What a wonderful evening I've spent there.
Now let me show you some of the pictures I took.
Sorry about the amount of stickers on the photo, but I had to hide information and the children's faces for privacy

This is part of the stage. They kids made all the props themselves

Yes that's Toto. It was so funny because Toto was a stuffed puppy in Dorothy's basket, but after he escaped from the house, he came back as a little boy dressed in puppy costume.
He was SO GOOD at barking though!
He sounded so legit I was so surprised!

At the gate to see Oz with Scarecrow, Tin-Man, and Lion.
I was so into the show while Dorothy travelled through the Land of Oz I forgot to take pictures

This was right after Lion's solo, "If I Were King of the Forest", and oh my that girl was so good!
There was a big standing ovation after she finished singing.
My personal favourite was Scarecrow though! She was so good at singing AND dancing, and her acting was marvellous. I really enjoyed her first scene!
(SHOULD HAVE TOOK PICTURES!!! T____T)

Sneaking into the witch's castle.
You can see Scarecrow, Tin-Man, and Lion on top of the stage in the army uniform.

Auntie Em singing in the barn with Dorothy in the witch's castle.
They harmonized so well!!
That's it!
One little thing I was very disappointed was that one of the clip-in mic wasn't working, and Glinda and Tin-Man was sharing that mic so we couldn't really hear their solo.
I was sitting near the front, so from the glimpse I heard over the instrumental music, they were very good singers too. It would have been great to hear them through mic
But I was so impressed with how professional these little actors were.

The mic didn't work, but none of them looked panicked, they just continued as if nothing happened.
One funny thing on technical problem.
One of the mic wasn't turned off, or the mic switcher switched on the wrong mic, but during this very serious and quiet scene, we were able to hear the backstage noise so well.
And hear the comment one of the girl at the back made on Lion's singing: "[insert her name] was SO GOOD!"
After the show, my brother told me that as soon as that comment was made, and they realized the audience heard it, everyone at the back fell dead silent and completely pale with their hand on their mouth LOL
Ok that was a very long rant.... but I was just so pumped after it.
I saw my brother during the scene changes too and every time there was a scene change, all the other parents will sit back but my dad and I would lean forward and try to look for him. ヘ(゚∀゚*)ノ
At the end of the show when all the cast and crew went on stage, and when my brother came out, we cheered so loud we scared the people in front of us ( ̄▽+ ̄*)
I wish we could have recorded it, but unfortunately they were using a copyrighted script

OK really that's it! Thank you so much for reading such a long text if you indeed read till here :P
Hope you enjoyed! I'll talk to you guys next time!
