First of all... of course I'll talk about Anime North!
What a wonderful (and crazy) year this was!
What a wonderful (and crazy) year this was!

I had been working at AN for a couple of years now, always dealing with Japanese guests, but this was the first year we've invited fashion guests over.
Thankfully I had a great team of translators, and awesome partner in crime, Rin, so I was able to throw the responsibilities for the voice actresses completely to her to take care of the fashion guests solely.
To be honest I was extremely nervous. I mean…. We invited Misako Aoki and Juliette et Justine. I've been admiring their work for ages. And I get to meet them!? What!? An actual real model and Lolita fashion designer for god's sake! (<- my exact thoughts when they signed the contracts)
I had teamed up with the Lolita Tea Party team for the entire process from initial contact up to sending the guests off. They were the ones who took the initiative to invite the fashion guests. Without them, none of this would have happened. Queenie, Karen, Val, thank you SO much for giving me this opportunity and this experience!!!

Here are some pictures from Misako's panel on Saturday.
It was so nice to see a room full of Lolitas.

Misako was actually quite worried how many would come, and when she saw the room fill in till full, she was quite relieved and happy.

By the way I purchased that dress she's wearing in the photos.

It's Baby the Star Shine Bright's Fairy Ribbon JSK, and at the time of AN it was not released yet.
(We got the first look!!
)I just simply could not resist how pretty that dress was so the moment it came out.... I hit the purchase button

Bonus... Misako and I waiting for the room to open ahaha
(This one's from the Friday panel)
I had few hours of free time on Saturday so went around the con.

At Pinkly Ever After booth with Robin.
This photo is from Sunday's Lolita Tea Party.
We had to wear business casual for the duration of the con when on duty, but got to wear lolita for this event. I mean.... it's a tea party with dress code

Misako and Mari loved the gift box Lolitas put together!

Chloe came on behave of PEA to deliver the gifts!

With Robin right before going on stage.
Sunday night after closing ceremony, we hit the road and drove to Niagara Falls!

They do fireworks at 10pm everyday for that week, and we managed to get there on time and saw it literally right beside where they were firing them.

The days passed so fast and so many great moments.
I couldn't get a photo for everything I wanted to, and when I sit down and think about it, there are so many moments I go "Damn I should have took a photo there".
But! Everything's in my head and I shall remember everything till the end of the day

I met so many lolitas, and made lots of great friends. I was never active in my local community but this really gave me the boost to finally get involved. I'm glad I did XD
Otakuthon is coming up soon, and I will be translating again.
Can't wait to meet Montreal lolitas!!
