My thoughts and impressions. . .
「行脚 百鬼夜行~陰~ / Angya Hyakki Yako ~Kage~」
Kagrra, FINAL TOUR
Club Diamond Hall, Nagoya
02.25.11
With that first and last live performance I have witnessed, my respect towards this group of musicians
has escalated far more than I can think of. They were not just performers for me that time but role
models of true audio craftsmanship. I see them as passionate musicians on stage as their music
reverberated throughout the hall; flawless, crisp and enigmatic (I swear Isshi’s voice was so enigmatic
to the point it was haunting). The crowd swayed and moved all throughout their performance but
amongst all, the part when they played 桜舞い散るあの丘で (Sakura maichiru ano oka de) with the
crowd singing the chorus like a mantra as encouraged by Isshi-san had sent chills down my spine.
The hall felt magical and undisturbed, as if each person was following one rhythm of breathing as they
syllabicate each word of the song. Well of course, all good things must come to an end, and what better
way of ending such sweet and beautiful trance?
A powerful vocal solo by Isshi-san without a microphone as he hit all those high notes to its glory and end.
I was in total awe, not just because of the music and sound they had produced that very instance but
by the emotions brought about by Isshi’s singing voice and the whole band’s (Shin, Akiya, Nao and
Izumi) rhythm as radiated from each beat created.
The moment was a great time to shed tears of love and happiness towards the band’s exceptional feat
like all the other fans were doing that time. I do admit feeling poignant over my feelings and thoughts
but then instead of tears trickling, I found myself forcing a genuine smile of appreciation.
A heartfelt smile of gratitude for being an inspiration to move on and live on in spite impending changes.
Up to the last minute, Kagrra, has proven to me their allure as an inimitable and consistent band in
terms of sound. It was like seeing a beautiful lady brought up elegantly through the years.
Kagrra, was a beautiful blend of OLD and NEW. Music and aesthetic combined as epic and sublime.
Their exit was perfectly crafted it will definitely have an eternal imprint inside my head and heart.
Personally, Kagrra, will remain as one of those rare bands that can truly
inspire me and my imagination of true and stunning beauty untainted.
P.S.
To watch Kagrra, perform LIVE before their FINAL demise was worth all the hassle of traveling.
