5th Mindset . . . Credit card is a necessary evil because it helps you build a credit history and a credit score for future necessary borrowings but also makes you spend more. Credit card companies tempt you with points and benefits that you can only enjoy if you use the credit card more often. Additionally, you pay a monthly or annual fee for some extra perks that you can only enjoy to the fullest if you spend a lot more. All credit card companies educate you on the benefits but they don’t reveal how your spending impacts your credit score. Question what credit card benefits are meaningful to you and what is the minimum you need to spend on the credit to get those benefits and maintain a good credit score and history.
