In speaking and listening class, I studied about some idioms and what is culture? I think learning idioms is so important things for us to understand accuracy what the native speaker said and thought. Then, the teacher taught us idioms of the same meaning, that is "tired". For example, I was beat today, because I was hard working until a while ago, so I use "beat" as adjective instead of "tired ". The information gave me a part of native speaker’s world. That's one of why I'm interested in this class. Next, we learned about culture. We did Brainstorming and say to kind of culture. There are a lot of ideas in this time. Then I really wanted to go to a hot spring in Japan, because of talking about it. Also, our groups were talking about Japanese Ramen noodles, and I desired to have my favorite shop's Ramen. Where is my best Ramen shop in Boston?
April 27, 2015 (Monday) it was sunny day but still cold.

I love to drink some coffee very much, so I always drink a cup of hot coffee every morning at breakfast. There are some coffee in the cafeteria of our university in Boston, and besides we can get something cold or hot to drink here for free. It is helpful for me to wake and save of my money. I have one of the favorite taste of coffee there. My best coffee is “our brand”. I think the taste is better than Starbucks’s one or Dunkin’ Donuts’s one, so I often carry the coffee into my tumbler with some ice blocks. I really feel happy to drink that every day. In addition, coffee contain a caffeine that is a drug found in coffee and tea that makes people feel more active. I believe that this ingredient is one of the important things for me to wake up clearly. I would keep drinking from now on.

April 26 2015 (Sunday)

It was sunny day but suddenly it became cloudy and so cold temperature made us shivering. Today was “the Japan Festival Boston” in Boston Common at Beacon st and Charles st. Because of my university often joins this festival as a volunteer, we have to do work parting various groups. I was in charge of a part of Food Booths-Higo Batten Ramen- mainly sold Yakisoba and Dumplings. There were 3 staffs-one fried dumplings and the other was in charge of register- and 1 owner made yakisoba in the booth. The owner said me “please let customer wait in line to”. I only felt nerves at first, but it was a nice opportunities for us to listen to various pronunciation of English speakers. Moreover we got chance talking with strangers, too. However, I could not endure staying there because it was so cold temperature. I heard some people caught a cold after the festival. After all Boston is cold.
