Antoinette Sorensen, 88, of Swiftwater, died Saturday Aug. 18, at Lehigh Valley Medical Center. She was the wife of Edward Sorensen, for 54 years.Lehigh Valley coroner Scott Grim said Sorsensen was pronounced dead of a head injury shortly before 2:30 a.m. Saturday. He said her death stemmed from a fall Thursday in the bathroom of her home.Sorensen operated "Staaten ceramics," in Staten Island, N.Y., a small store which grew over a 20 year period to become one of the largest manufacturers and distributes of hobby ceramics in the tri-state region.Upon her "retirement" in 1986 the Sorensens moved to the Poconos where she became a professional artist and teacher in her own studio. Her medium of choice on canvas was oils but she also supplied boutiques and furniture stores with hand painted items which were in high demand.She also served as president of the "Pocono Painters" and was renowned for the selfless sharing of her time, talent and knowledge while mentoring new artists.A viewing from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Bolock Funeral Home 6148 Paradise Valley Road Cresco .The Reverend Father Joseph Kopacz will conduct a blessing service at 1 p.m.baby bottle warmer manufacturer
