The Motorola Droid Razr MAXX HD recently received the long-awaited update to the Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system, delivering a smoother and faster user experience overall. Launched on October 18 of this year, the Droid Razr MAXX HD is durable inside and out. A special water resistant nanocoating protects both the interior electrical components as well as the outside of the handset, and government grade data encryption for your e-mail, calendar and contacts is also on board. The remote wipe feature is handy should your handset become lost or stolen, and the Kevlar and aircraft grade aluminum body is durable and rugged.
A personal identification number locking system allows you to limit access to your personal information, and the 4.70 inch Super AMOLED screen is protected against scratching by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. That large capacitive, multitouch screen delivers a resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels, offering more than 16 million different colors at 312 pixels per inch. MicroHDMI and DLNA connectivity provide video out of options.
The handset also boasts one of the best battery performances of any smartphone, offering a full 21.0 hours from a single charge. That oversized, extended life 3,300 mA battery is also capable of 27.0 hours of streaming music over Verizon’s LTE network, as well as 13.0 hours of video playback and 10.0 hours of streaming video. Even with an impressive hardware package, large high-resolution screen and huge battery, the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD 4G handset is slim at 0.37 inches (9.3 mm).
The CPU on board is a 1.5 GHz model, 1.0 GB of RAM memory is on board, and 32 GB of data storage are built-in. A microSD slot has been provided for storage expansion, and popular applications YouTube and Picasa are pre-installed. The Verizon Droid Razr MAXX HD also offers the Chrome for Android web browser out-of-the-box. Video capture runs 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (1,080p HD resolution) via the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder, and the front facing chat cam can be used to place and receive video calls.
