It rained cats and dogs in the second day of my staying in New Orleans.
photo:01

I got soaked my clothes but I don't mind for having delicious breakfast.
I ate the delicacy of New Orleans which is called beignet, looks like doughnut, with cafe au lait.Of course I ate up all!!
photo:02

When I left the cafe, the rain was letting up.
There are a lot of galleries to see.
photo:03

I really wanted to get some paintings but they were too expensive for me so I just purchased the printed picture. But I like it.
My husband finished his task earlier than expected. We met in downtown around 5pm and talked about the night plan with local beer.
photo:04

We decided to go to Cajun restaurant and after that,go to jazz bar.

This Cajun restaurant is famous on Yelp.
photo:05

This is one of Cajun foods, named Gumbo soup.
photo:06

The ingredients are beans, crabs, shrimps, okras and so on.It was very tasty!!I'll check the recipe and make it by myself.

This is Taste of New Orleans Plate. We could have general Cajun foods.
photo:07

And this is Cajun spaghetti with cream sauce.
photo:08

We relished both of them.

We celebrated the last day of my trip at the jazz club.

We listened to jazz music by white men the day before. But this day was by black men.
I'm not so familiar with jazz but I felt difference between them. It's hard to explain but I felt nostalgia from black music.

He performed on some musical instrument.

also with part of his body.

I burnt the final day of my trip into my mind.
After I and my husband arrived at hotel,we strolled in French Market vicinity.
photo:01

As it was hot and humid day,we satisfy our thirst with some alcohol.
The most surprising and pleaing thing was to drink with walking. What an awesome city!!

We dropped in the curiou bar.
photo:03

and got some energy cocktails.
photo:04

Then we looked for some restaurants for dinner.
The guide book says New Orleans famous for Cajun food which is cooked with seafood.
We found the casual restaurant which is popular with tourists and we first ordered oyster cocktail.
They were bigger than I usual eat.
photo:05

Not so flavorful but eating with spice was much better.

And finally I tried fried soft-shell crab which I failed to eat in D.C.
photo:06

It was completely mustached beers.

The most enjoyment of that night was listening to Jazz at preservation hall which is one of the most famous jazz clubs in New Orleans.
photo:09

We joined the line and had been waiting for 30min.
photo:07

Inside of the hall was not so large but well-used.
photo:08

We enjoyed the Jazzy night.

Finally I got my last destination,New Orleans.I was worrying if I can connect safely in Atlanta because I din't have enough time to change air planes.
But the staff was waiting at the exit of the plane and ushered us to the gate.
The plane departed on time.

Now I'm waiting my husband and he's going to arrive in one hour.I'm also looking forward to reunion with him again.
It was clear and sunny today. Leaves are getting to turn red.

Smithsonian American Art Museum seemed to be opened at 11:30am,I decided to take my time to e-mail to my parents and read a book at the cafe.
I like to have free and easy time as same as to walk around in town.

Then I went to Smithsonian American Art Museum in the afternoon.

There are a lot of weird contemporary American arts and this is one of them.
photo:02

Plenty of small-screen display are located in the illuminated states and they project their own trait of states.
I took some photos of Oregon's one.

Coffee and...
photo:03

windsurfing!!
photo:04

Oregon is almost my second home.

I also found some Edward Hopper's paintings.
photo:05

photo:06

I met Edward Hopper in this trip.

My next destination was National Air and Space Museum.
When I entered the museum,I saw some crying kids who was taken along by their parents.
Maybe they did'd want to go out.

photo:07

It was a little bit difficult to understand some special words about space but I could feel their great power.
photo:08

I arrived at Union Station in Washington D.C. at 7am.Sun was getting rising.
photo:01

The hoel which I booked is near from the staion,so at first dropped in and left my luggage.
As I arrived at D.C early in the morning,I could go sight-seeing a lot today.

I went to the local market to eat soft shell crab.
(This picture is form Yelp)
photo:04

But after I got to the market,I realized that soft shell crabs are out of season in this time of the year.
Fortunately, there were some other seafood menus,so I orderd crab cake breakfast.
photo:05

He didn't fail to live up to my expectations.
photo:06

After I had a meal,I started on my sight-seeing.

The White House.
photo:02

Washington Monument.
photo:03

Lincoln Memorial.
photo:07

After I visited three of them, I went to U.S Holocaust Memorial Museum.
I could hardly look at the material of holocaust.
But I couldn't say if I live at that period,I never do such a foolish deed.
Because right and wrong have been changed. It's difficult to say what is right and what is wrong.

I strongly think that I want to be the person who listen to other people and who never think that I am completely right. It also can be said the relationship between a husband and wife.

I moved to National Museum of Natural History thinking about a lot of things.
photo:08

I was met at the museum by him.

I got on Amtrak.I booked the business seat on my safety.
It is so comfortable than I thought.
photo:01

photo:02

I feel I do travel by myself!!
I write this blog waiting Amtrak to Washington DC.

After I checked out the hotel,I went directly to Amtrak station.
photo:01

The departure time is 9:30pm but I wanted to leave my luggage at the station.
I didn't know if they have luggage storage,so I asked the station employee about that. But she spoke too fast to get her words.
I challenged to ask another two staffs and finally I got the luggage storage!!
photo:02

I was released from my luggage!
I went to China Town with a light step to have lunch.
photo:03

To be honest,I tried to some crab or lobster sandwich or cram chowder but they sit heavy on the stomach.
I just wanted to eat some plain things,so went to Cina Town and ate chicken pho.
photo:04

Actually it was not pho noodle but delicious.
I went to Museum of Fine Arts with fullness.
photo:05

I came to this museum the day after yseterday but I wanted to spend more time to see arts.
I could't help visiting again because it's free.

In this time,I got the Japanese art zone.
This side is modern Buddha and the back is ancient Buddha. These are interesting contrast.
photo:06

And ancient Buddha were arranged in like temple style.
photo:07

I found the Edward Hopper painting again.
photo:08

I also like this. It's the common scenery but light and shadow give it warmth and loneliness.
Today,I was walking around in downtown all day.At first I walked on the red line which is called “Freedom Trail” to see the historical buildings efficiently but my curiosity doesn't want my foot to step the red line.
I swerved from the red line and walked on my way.I am so excited when I step into a strange place because I look around carefully to confirm where I am.Consequently I find interesting things.

Please look at this picture. In spite of there is no road,it has the name of road.So peculiar!!
photo:01

But I looked carefully...
photo:02

There is underpass under the house and it goes through the other side.

I recognaized another interesting thing when I walked. The path is waving. Not only this path but almost all slope is waving like this.
photo:03

I was wondering about the reason and got one answer by myself. It's because the roots of the trees?!

A acorn-shaped door knocker.So cute!
photo:04

I also had a good day today and I'm going to watch the movie on my iPad which title is “Good Will Hunting”.The scene of this movie is at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
I went to Harvard University in the morning.
photo:01

I enjoyed imaging if I am the student of this University.
photo:02

Suprisingly,I found specialty sotre of Curious George in front of Univercity.
photo:04

My niece loves George but hard to get some George's goods in Japan. So I got a T-shirt and an accessory for her.

Thinking why there is George's specialty store in Boston,I checked online.According to Wikipedia, the author moved to Boston and passed away at this place.
Travel always gives me a fascinating information and it makes for my new interesting.

After I left the store,I visited Museum of Fine Arts and I had small lunch at the restaurant in the museum.
photo:05

Because it was so fine day,I got sun for a long while.Because of that I have little time to look around the museum.

I run through the museum but I was amazed at their prezentation.
photo:06

There are no fences in front of the paintings even if the Gogh's and the Monet's.

These are the same painting
photo:07

photo:08

but it gave me a different impression when I saw it at close range and long distance.

I found that I can visit MFA within ten days for free by this ticket.I'm going to come again during this stay.
Today,I got up 5am to catch my flight.I was wondering that I had better go to airport by taxi or train. But when I departed from hotel, the sky was getting brighten,so I decided to go by train.
Using taxi is more than10 times as expensive as train. As I walked around the city a long time in these three days,I could get the way to the station easily.

I ctached my fligft without hindrance.

I strolled in downtown Boston.
photo:01

photo:04

It seemed like an European row of houses along the street.
photo:03

I learned that there was a close relationship between England and this town.To see for myself is asset in my life.
photo:05

I have to thank my husband for what he always supports that I want to do.
photo:06

I went to Whole Foods to get some foods and alcohole for dinner because I wanted to relax in the hotel.
Hot bar in boston's Whole Foods had very different type of meal compare to Portland's.
The most surprise thing was that they don't carry any alcohol even beer and wine.
Fortunately,I got the liquor shop near Whole Foods.
It was also good study for me that laws differ from state to state.
