UConn second exhibition opponent, Vanguard University, is coached by Russ Davis, who also happens to coach the Nike Cal Swish AAU team based out of Orange County California.
One of his AAU players, 5 11 guard Lauren Engeln from Laguna Hills, Calif., has verbally committed to UConn and is expected to be one of four recruits to FAX a signed National Letter of Intent to the Huskies Wednesday, the first day of the NCAA fall signing period.
"Lauren is going nike free 3.0 v4 to be great," Davis said. "She can get her own shot, she can rebound, she is a physical guard. She can play multiple positions. Her biggest strength is her versatility. And she is a winner."
Davis said that another one of UConn California nike air max online recruits, six foot junior swingman Kaleena Mosqueda Lewis who has already offered a verbal commitment, is impressive, as well.
Mosqueda Lewis, air max 96 who is likely to be the top recruit in the country next year, does not play for Davis, but because she is from Anaheim, he is very familiar with her.
"She is already great, and she is going to get better and better," Davis said. "That is a kid that wants to win. She knows how to win.
Samarie Walker (6 1 swingman, Dayton, Ohio) is slated to officially sign Friday.
