藤田みしろ (Mishiro Fujita) - COUNT DOWN - My Track by Track Review

It's always interesting to listen songs of the person you know. Through music it's always easier to understand a person. On this CD, Fujita took on the role of vocalist and I would like to hear songs in the future where she not only sings, but also plays. At the same time I want to say that this disc is a wonderful work of musicians and sound engineers. This is really good quality. And I hope Fujita will be able to continue her cooperation with these people.

1. Countdown

I've always liked intro that contains alternative instruments. For example, when a metal composition begins with an orchestral entry. This adds a special charm.
The second thing I absolutely love about music is the electric guitar. In this song from the first notes it becomes clear that the guitarist has high compositional and professional level. Even if the composition seems a bit simple, in fact it is not. The guitarist uses different techniques and effects, He know perfectly well what to use.
Good rhythm section in the verse. And of course beautiful vocals. I always liked this vocal style. It has all the shades of Japanese music and it is very important. Really good control of voice. Fujita really did practice a lot and it's clearly audible with clean vocals with good control over the sound.
The rhythm changes in the verse. This makes the song difficult to perform and interesting.
A good classic chorus, recalls the good songs from the anime. I think this song could well become an opening song for anime. The song has a very good balance between vocals and music. It is  good work of the sound director.
Good solo section. Interesting technique of the playing and a good sound.
And even without music Fujita's vocals sound good and volume.
If we talk about some disadvantages (personally for me), I think the song could be made more drive. For example, making a more overloaded guitar or adding keyboard instruments. Something that will make the sound more warlike. But I think it depends more on the personal taste. Someone love more pop sound, someone loves more metal sound.
The song balances well on the edge between pop music and rock music, creating a good sound and mix. Really good song that you can listen to again and again.

2. Like a Little Star

I insanely love low vocals. Almost all my life. So from the very beginning I can say that I like this song. Everything that reminds me of Nanu Mizuki and Eri Kitamura always makes me love the song. I like different vocalists in Japan. But I will always listen to Mizuki and Kitamura. And no matter whether it's rock music or not. With these performers, powerful vocal with low notes (in some of their songs) is always important to me.
In this song for the vocal in the verse, something like the Fuzz effect is used to make it sound even lower. Really beautiful singing. I would like to hear more songs with such low notes as in the verse.
In this song, you can hear the bass guitar very well. I always like when you can hear this instrument. Usually it stays in the shade and complements the rhythm section, but here it plays an important role. I again need to note the excellent work of the sound engineer. I must say that this is rare enough when a real professional works on releases of new artists.
Good chorus. This is always very important, I believe that if the song does not have a good, catchy chorus, such a song does not make sense. In this song, a good chorus, which perfectly complements the composition. And again, beautiful singing.
And again a good solo. Even if it's short, it's very suitable for this song.
A fine singing for a bass guitar. Good combination of vocals and instruments.
Beautiful ending.
