Hi my name is Emily Audrey Harper, and here I blog about my life in Hong Kong!

My last post was a year ago. Well, not exactly. But it was last year...

YES, it is 2014 and I am so over being excited for the new years. I use to think "This year is totally gonna change. Leggo." These days I seem to have gotten more realistic and less hopeful. I mean, going into a new year does not exactly mean all our problems just disappear. Or that we would suddenly become a different person, we don't—unless we try to. We remain the same people, same life, same world, same problems. Of course, you may view things differently, and try to impose changes to your habits. But its not like the moment the clock strikes 12 ding your life is changed. It's just that people DECIDE to impose these changes with the new year. I mean, they could have made the decision even before the new year started.

But let's not get cynical.

Looking back at 2013, it has been an amazing year with some minor regrets, but amazing memories.

First off, it started off with this amazing guy GWA. Who I really really liked. But obviously it didn't work out, and it wouldn't have anyways. But nonetheless, it was an amazing experience and it's one of the best things that's happened to me in that area.

Then there were those fieldtrips with the art class, which was actually really fun. Amazing Race at Cheung Chau was amazing and it was a great day to spend with the friends. Summer was relaxing, although i wished I had hung out with the peeps more. And the trip to Japan was just as amazing, as I was reminded of why I liked the country so much in the first place.

Year 13 started off really rocky, with the dip in my grades and the drop in my Physics grades. But I've learnt my lesson and I'm making up for it. Then there are those heartthrobing moments when i click the submit button on my university applications, although i still have more to be done.

Clockenflap was my first music festival, and also the best night EVER. Watching The 1975 play was absolutely amazing. Only I wished I had walked over earlier so I had a better spot . The night was also my debut of drinking at a public area, which was exciting and I'm glad I shared it with the besties. Although Ray looked really mad haha! She stepped aside while we got the drinks, as if afraid.

The weird trip to the peak for geography was alright, but the bus ride down with Gigi was exciting. It's nice to meet someone from where I was born and see their perspective of the place I grew up. It was weird we didn't ask for his name though, although we probably should have. It was also nice to hang out with Gigi the first time; we always talked in school but we never got the chance to walk around!

There was also the night of Christine's birthday with absolutely amazing food at Fat Angelo's. Although i wished we could have walked around more, that's the only thing I don't like about GT..... when she needs to leave, she tries to get everyone to leave with her..... but nonetheless it was a fun and crazy girls night with great talk.

Disneyland with Louise, GT and Ray was real fun. Ray and I were having spinning the fastest ever tea cup haha. The shows were amazing, the singing was amazing. Then there was the occasional hot guy that walked past (tsk tsk the one with the red beanie—that was how we identified him). Then there was this other guy that was cute-ish but my theory is that he's gay(his jeans were real tight) but we sat across from him on our boat ride haha. great excuse to stare *cough*

Although my make-up birthday lunch in Soho on Christmas Eve was not as glamourous as Christine's, it was great food and fun talk. The sleepover was amazing. We sang christmas songs, made mince pies. I also "accidentally" let Ray drink a Mojito, which was her first ever real drink. Ahaha. Then there was the girl talk card games which we invented from the trip to India, while I drank beer that honestly tasted slightly like gravy :/ . Then we watched How to Lose a Guy in 10 days, till we almost passed out.

The trip to Macau was fun I guess. It was nice to take some polaroids of the area. And eat a lot. I personally thought the best bit was when I got the Turkish ice cream from the cutest guy ever, or one of anyways. But I freaked out so much I just walked away after. I should have taken a photo with him first :P But it was nice to go with the family, great times.

And now its 2014 and I hope I learn to focus more on work (which I am totally making a start right now as I type this *sarcasm*). And I hope my dad will let me go to phuket for my grad trip—it'll be a friggin amazing trip with the girls! I also hope I get into Waterloo, but top choice university. Or well, hope I get an offer from at least one university anyways. Anyways, I just hope things will turn out right. :)

But this year, I really wanna get into the healthy lifestyle. I wanna look good on prom night, so that's my goal day. That's a little resolution for the year. Oh and stop procrastinating so much..... which is to stop typing and get my to my Chinese writing task.

So I shall zoom off.

peace.

This is great. にひひ

We got a day off from Mid-Autumn festival on Friday and now we get Monday off. It's absolutely great. ドクロにひひ

This was apparently the strong typhoon in 34 years.台風 So I guess it's expected that it should get us out of school.グッド! It would have been like a joke if it didn't, especially after all the news report about it being the monster storm and stuff. べーっだ!

Drawbacks from the typhoon? Well, we missed out university fair this year.... but good thing that there's always a Canadian University fair in Wan Chai each year. Plus I would probably have spent most of my time getting free pens and badgesチョキ, since there weren't goin to be many universities that I was gonna apply to anyways.かお

Looks like I'll be working again today though. I have a Chinese IOA tomorrow叫び, a writing assignment due and a dictation to study for. I should probably also work on art.... I think my teacher expects a finished piece of work soon... with reporting grades due in a week or something....ショック!

I feel like there's nothing much to write about... and there really is nothing to write about. I'm afraid IB has raided me of any interesting events.... シラー

I should stop before I pollute ameba with my IB insanity and rambles.むっ

Well....I do have to admit I'm not the best blogger out there...but hey. At least it means I have more of a life than just an online one.

For the past.. well two weeks I've been working on stuff and procrastinating and all that usual student stuff. There still isn't much extra work that I have to commit to other than my Math investigation and my Extended Essay—which by the way is every student's nightmare.

The thing is, the deadlines for the first drafts are published and set. Then m absolutely WONDERFUL (and please note the sarcasm in this) decided that he is gonna give us pretty much the weekend and have our first drafts due in next week. Now for the majority of the class, who has done near nothing, this is the absolute more horrible, most cruel and the most awkward moment.

We sat in class with our mouths open at the shock. Maybe a few were drooling. Of maybe that's exaggerating it a little too much. But really.......

I guess I should get a coffin made soon.....

And crap I just remembered about designing this thing for a school event. So I better get to work because photoshop on my laptop has been being a bitch.....

ugh

peace.
