Forever a DORK!!!

I am not sure if this is a comeback on ameba blog... Because the reason I started this blog has long been over... But this is the only place where I can write my own thoughts about stuff... So here it is... My first blog in a long long time!!! ^^

The title is sort of a give away!!!

Greeks are like the most controversial races that ever walked this planet!!!

I will start with the reason that triggered this entry... And that is none other than the propaganda frenzy about Greek Police Forces!!!

The propaganda is that police forces are violent and have no disregard about the public, often beating the living crap out of protesters for no reason what so ever...
That is the propaganda...

I am not going to say that there aren’t officers a bit more zealous (leading to an extreme behavior from their part) about their job and may be corrupt BUT that is NOT ALL officers!!!

Just like NOT ALL Greeks are corrupt (it is unimaginable the amount of Greeks that leech of money from the government on pensions from dead people, or fake disabilities... and yet, they can’t see how corrupt they are!!! Make me want to slap their faces!!!), the same applies to the police officers... Or maybe they are children of a different God????

Let's get one thing straight... Greeks want their policemen to be, and I mean in the literal meaning of the word, their public 'servants'; to defend them against thieves, drug-dealers, even other Greeks who have wronged them... But... Yes, there is ALWAYS a 'but'... Greeks don't like their policemen to boss them around when they are the ones doing something wrong...
Hmmm... Does anyone see the irony in the above paragraph???

The most ludicrous part of this you see it in protests... Armed police task forces are usually ordered to keep people from reaching the parliament during protests... That's when all hell breaks loose... Because u see, Greeks are peaceful protesters... So, one might ask how do they end up getting beat up by the police...
The answer is simple my friends... Greece has other inhabitants too... Apart from Greeks living on the Greek peninsula, you will also find that rocks and chunks of marble also reside peacefully amongst us... Until it’s a protest day!!!
On such a day... These peaceful inhabitants riot against police forces... You can see the inconvenience right???
Being a peaceful Greek protester getting caught in the middle of the crossfire between police officers vs. rocks/chunks of marble???

Oh, well... Greeks want respect from the policemen without them returning the respect... Meh situation...

Greeks want the 300 politicians to burn in hell for what they put us thru these past couple of years but no one actually admits that it is our own fault we got here...
Being a civil/public worker in Greece, before the memorandum, meant that u NEVER get laid off from work, no matter what u do or don't do... 2000 euro per month the least (if u only have a high school diploma) income... You have assured your children's future job in the public service... 1000 euro extra for being on time to work, for putting in some extra hours, child support, paper transfers, gas used for your car, etc

What has changed after the memorandum with this picture is the income (which is still more than what u get if u work for a private company)... Everything else is still the same... No one works in public services and if they do... It only for a couple of hours... They still work less hours than private workers... They get more holidays... Definitely don't work on weekends...

Most of them own their houses and they have at least one more house in a village or island (depends where they come from)... They have expensive cars... They send their children to private schools... And yet they ALWAYS complain that they don't have enough money to live on...

U see... They had based their lives on an income of 2000 euro per month and now... They can't seem to be able to live on 1000 euro per month...
I wonder how the other half of Greeks live??? I mean the ones that work in private companies that used to take 1300 per month income and now have to live their family with 600 - 700 euro per month income at best (sometimes companies don’t even pay on time saying they have no income and employees should be patient)... Oh, yeah... They are children of a different God!!!

Some controversial facts...

Greeks love to spend money on label clothes and designer furniture but hate to spend money on food and house supplies (they will find the cheapest and worst supplies to buy disregarding health restrictions just for the sake of not spending too much)...
They love to spend money going out to clubs with live Greek music but they are stingy when they go out to eat at restaurants...
They love to travel but hate spending money on tickets and hotels... they always look for the cheapest result with the AAA comfort they seek...
They always have something to say about everything even though they know nothing about it... But just for the sake of argument they have to say their opinion and be firm about it...
They complain about the big amount of foreign refugees but when the government decides to take action for the problem they are the first to protest about human rights!!! (@_@)

The list goes on and on and on...

They elected the Golden Dawn party into the parliament but if u ask them if they voted them no one will tell u they did it... Because Golden Dawn is seen as a fascist party of Neonazis, so everybody hates (but then you wonder how they were elected if not by the Greek population… hmmm… I think it was the rocks and chunks of marble population that elected them… damn you rocks!!!!)... But they are blind to the fact that our government is the one who is actually acting like a fascist party... Meh situation...

Greeks are Orthodox Christians... They are very religious too... Even though they go to church two times a year or maybe a couple more times when it’s a saint's fiesta... They always do their cross in front of a church but they cuss their heads off in the most hideous language ever heard (I cuss too but at least I am NOT religious... Nyan...)...

Don't get me wrong...

I am not saying that other races/cultures are better... I am just writing a few observations about MY people... Things that tick me off...

I could write about Maltese people whom I lived amongst for a big part of my life (also being part Maltese through moms' lineage)... I could write about Japanese people whom I have learned through friends and by studying their culture... I could tell you about Slovakians or Eastern Europeans whom I observed on travels I made... Same applies to Italians, Germans, French and Brits...

But... All those races/cultures are NOT Greeks who I am not really fond off (Neo-Greeks do not sit well on my good side) but care deeply enough for them...

I am very proud to be Greek... And I know that all other cultures hate us for being the ones who shed light to the indigenous inhabitants of this planet, but it’s not our fault for being lucky to have lived in the Greek Peninsula for all these ages... It’s not only that my forefathers where amongst the most intelligent species to walk the earth, the location of this beautiful country helped too... You will not find another country blessed with riches of the earth, water and air all in one place!!!

I think I should stop here, although I am certain I am missing a lot of other interesting insights but... I have to do some actual work now...

SMALL NOTE:
I don't mind comments or criticism about what I write as long as u can back it up with a reasonable argument... Don't comment just for the sake of commenting because I will delete them!!! I consider that to be a fair warning!!
