Canada seems like it's changed all because of the Olympic Games. It's strange that now that I've decided to leave Canada, the entire nation has been enriched with pride.

It should have been seen that from the moment Nikki Yanofsky sang O'Canada during the Opening Ceremonies, a rendition unlike any I had ever heard before, that being Canadian would be something to be proud about. That was the defining moment for me. It wasn't the 14 Gold Medals, or the glorious celebrations in the streets, it was that singular moment that for the very first time I felt proud to be Canadian.

Even with this feeling, the road ahead has been set. I hope to take to Japan, this feeling that the Olympics have given me. For all I know, perhaps by being in Japan, I will bring with me the things that are Canadian. Maybe Short Track Speed Skating or Curling will become a new hobby. I used to skate, and I used to play Curling at a competitive level - maybe I will form a Japanese Men's Curling team and compete at a future games... =)

Who knows...
Hi Everyone,

For those of you that speak English, this will be my blog for leaving Canada and coming to Japan. I will write about all the difficulties it is in trying to get out of Canada. Maybe there will be some amusing stories to read about.

All posts will be in Japanese after I get to Japan in September. Stay tuned.
