カリフォルニア出身の八須ナンシーさんが出版した和食レシピ本「ジャパニーズ・フアーム・フード」
は、今、海外で人気です。
彼女はスタンフォード大学卒業後、１９８８年に来日、熊谷市で英語教師をして後、１９８９年、
農家に嫁入りし、日本の伝統的な家庭料理を学びました。
２００１年、自宅の一部を利用して保育所を開き、子供達に英語で日本料理を教えています、
テキストは一切使っていません。 両方覚えるので、保護者の方がたは大喜びしています。
ナンシーさんは、特注した木の樽を使った味噌作りまで子供達に見せているので、近所でも
日本人より日本人らしいと評判だそうです。
American lady who loves Japanese food
Mrs. Nancy Hachisu is from California in US.
She graduated Stanford University.
In 1988 she came to Japan to teach English and she married Japanese
farmer in 1989.
Then she learned Japanese traditional home cooking.
In 2001 she opened a kindergarten at her house and started teaching
cooking in English without text book.
She teaches Japanese home cooking, for example, it is Miso, she shows
children how to make Miso using special ordered wooden Taru.
Their parents are very happy, because their children can learn both
cooking and English.
At last, she published a book of Japanese recipe called [Japanese Farm
Food] to abroad, it's becoming popular.
Neighbors say "Mrs. Nancy is real Japanses than us."
