福岡県北九州市の河内藤園は樋口正男さんが５９歳の時、生きた証しを残そうと思いつき、６０歳になって裏山を開拓し始め、その後３０年かけて、約、80mの藤の花のトンネルを完成し、昭和４８年に開園しました。
現在は、80m と１２０mの２本のトンネルがあり、見頃は、４月～５月ということですが、入園料は
季節によって３００円～１０００円と差額があるそうです。
Making Wisteria tunnel
Kitakyu-syu city Kawauchi wisteria garden is famous as one of most beautiful flowers and wisteria tunnels.
Actually it is a private garden made by founder, Mr. Higuchi by himself about 50 years ago.
When he was 60, he decided to make wisteria tunnel for himself
what he was.
Then he cleared the hill at the back of his house, and it took 30 years to complete the wisteria tunnel.
The garden opened in 1972.
After he died, his second son took over the garden
.
Now two wisteria tunnels are there, one is 80m long and the other is 220m long.
Admission fee is from 300yen to 1000yen, it’s depend on the season.
The wisterias in the garden are at their best during April to May.
Thanks to his efforts, everybody can enjoy his beautiful wisteria tunnel, still now, and from now on .
