The YouGov survey for the WCRF の結果であります：
on average, 17% of lower income households (social groups C2, D and E) eat at least five portions per day, compared with 27% for those in higher income groups.
Fruit and veg consumption levels were lowest in the north of England, where 18% had five or more portions daily.
The highest levels of consumption were reported in the south of England, where 26% said they ate at least five portions.
In London, it was 21%, in Scotland 22% and in Wales 23%.

The headline figure of 800bn euros does include money that has already been committed to Greece, Portugal and Ireland.
It does, nonetheless, represent an increase in the resources the eurozone countries are prepared to mobilise to contain the financial crisis.
The key concern is whether there is enough to support Spain and Italy if they find themselves unable to borrow in the markets at affordable interest rates.
They have taken a step towards that, but the new figure falls short of the 1 trillion euros that many observers think is needed.

But this bond deal looks like it's going that way.
Reports suggest Greece is on course to achieve the participation rate it needs for the exchange to pass with fewer problems than expected.
Over 75% of bondholders are said to have signed up; the prime minister said he expected "maximum participation".
The brinkmanship strategy from the government seems to have worked. Greece's Finance Minister warned that bondholders waiting for a better deal would be forced into the swap and would simply not receive the value of their original bonds.
If the deal goes through, there will be a new glint of hope here: a sense that Greece would be in a better position to begin to manage its debt burden.
A small but significant step forward for this recession-stricken country.

手段はともかく理想の実現に向けてかように多方面から英知を集めて必死の努力が続いていることは評価すべきでありましょう。
この問題の解決に向けては、単なる経済、通貨の問題ではなく、ＥＵの基本理念を思い出すべきでありましょう。

ゴッドファーザーの世界であります。イタリアとスイスは国境を接しており、国境の町であるスイスのルガノなどには、銀行がひしめいており、イタリア人のお金が集まるのであります。
それとは別に、チューリッヒは本格的なスイスの金融の中心地であります。スイス人の感覚からすれば、お金にきれいだとか、きたないだとかの区別はありませんので希望に応じ何でも、誰からでも預かるのであります。しかも秘密厳守で。
最近でこそ、他国からの犯罪捜査には協力しておりますが、基本的なスタンスがそう簡単には変わらないと、記者は考えております。
一方我が国では、国債も含めすべてがペーパーレスになっておりますので偽国債はあり得ないのでありますが、この事件のように発行日の古いものでかつ満期日も過去のものであれば、果て、請求時効はどうなるのでありましょうか？ 不勉強ゆえわかりませぬ。
尚、記者がこのニュースを知ったのは日本時間土曜日の未明であります。音楽を聴こうと、ローカルＦＭ局に合わせると、何故かＢＢＣワールドニュースを流していたのでありました。

I'm told that both Tim Cook and the design chief Jonathan have have been deeply upset by accusations that Apple does not care about conditions in China.
The company also feels that it has been singled out unfairly - note Mr Cook's line about these inspections being "unprecedented in the electronics industry".
But, as by far the wealthiest firm in its industry, Apple can expect every aspect of how it makes its money to remain in the spotlight

６月に、数件の自殺のあとで、 Foxconn は、同社 Shenzhen工場の居住区域に自殺防止ネットを構築したのであります。
中国最大の民間雇用者である Foxconn は、世界中で１億人以上の従業員を有しております。
他のアップルへの供給者である Wintek は、アイフォンの画面を清掃する有毒化学物質 － n-hexane － を使用し、中国東部で１３７人が負傷した時には厳しい調査を受けたのであります。

"it has audited every final assembly factory in its supply chain since 2006. "
これらの監査結果は、同社のサイトで読むことが出来るのであります。
The New York Times の調査は次のように述べております：
"the audits had uncovered cases of under-age working and staff being paid less than the minimum wage."

普段使っております、リンゴ製品でありますが、消費者その他の眼は厳しいものであります。
とはいえ、そのような厳しさを乗り越えてこそが、真の優良企業であります。
一方、極東の島国では、地域独占にあぐらをかいていて、考え得る限りの公的保護、利便を得ておきながら、組織が困ったときには、”民間企業”と主張するのは、お笑い草なのでありますが、それをまじめな顔をして言うところが喜劇であり悲劇なのであります。

我が国は今日が立春。アラブの春の続きはどうなるのでありましょうか？ エジプトのその後についての報道を読む限り、春は未だ遠いと言わざるを得ません。
一方、我が国の政治は冬、経済も決して春とは言えませぬ。春に大きな期待を寄せるのがそもそも間違いなのでありましょうか？ そういえば、秋入学のように、季節感を変えて見るのも一法でしょうか？
