ホテル共和社長の砂川靖夫さん（宮古島観光協会副会長・沖縄食品衛生協会宮古島支部長）が、厚生労働大臣表彰を受賞され、お祝のパーティーが開催されました。
靖夫さんは、ご本業でものすごくお忙しい日々を送られている中、宮古島で開催された日本弦楽指導者協会全国大会や、イヴリー・ギトリス、サラ・チャンなど世界的な音楽家を宮古島に招聘し子どもたちと共演してもらう形で開催してきたみやこじま青少年国際音楽祭などの事業に本当に親身にかかわってきてくださいました。
そして、何よりも、靖夫さんが、そして靖夫さんを通してこの島の人たちが、私たちをご理解くださり励ましてくれてきたことが、私たちの大きな精神的な支えとなってきました。
本当におめでとうございます！
これからもよろしくお願い申し上げます。

今回も日本弦楽指導者協会理事長の立木茂先生に大変お世話になりました。
智美と私が東京から宮古島に移住し、「子どもたちのための音楽祭をやりたいね！」などといっていると、
立木先生は理事会を説得し、今まで新幹線の駅がある場所、(つまり大都市から便利に気軽に行ける場所)でしか開催してこなかった、日弦協全国大会を2013年宮古島で開催させでくださいました。
全国から400人の弦楽器奏者がマティダ市民劇場の舞台に集り演奏したことは今だに忘れることができません。
これをきっかけに、
立木先生、木野先生.宮古島観光協会副会長砂川靖夫さんをはじめとする皆さんのお力もお借りして、
イヴリー・ギトリス、サラ・チャン、ドイツマンハイム、マレーシア、タイと台北の青少年オーケストラを誘致し、音楽祭を開催してきました。
また、宮古島での音楽祭をきっかけに、マンハイム、ハイデルブルグ、ストラスブール、クレモナ、フィレンツェでコンサートを開催することができました。
そして今回は、ハンガリー放送交響楽団コンサートマスターのVilmos Olahさんをご紹介くださったわけです。
宮古島の子どもたちは本当に幸せだと思います。
智美と私が宮古島に移住してまもなく13年。
新しい子どもたちの団員がどんどん増えてきました。
子どもたちの生きる力がどんどん育つような形に音楽祭をつくっていきたいと思っております

When Tomomi and I moved from Tokyo to Miyakojima at 2007 and said, "We want to do a music festival for children!"
Prof. Tachiki told the Board of Directors of the Japan String Teacher’s Association’s Big Concert in Miyakojima in 2013, which had previously been held only at places where Shinkansen stations were located (that is places that are easily accessible from large cities). I got it.
It is unforgettable that 400 stringed players from all over JAPAN have gathered and performed on the stage of Matida Municipal Theater.
This triggered with the help of Prof. Tachiki and Prof. Kino and Mr,Yasuo Sunagawa Vice President of Miyakojima Sightseeing Association and many people.
And then with Ivry Gitlis, Sarah Chan, Mannheim, Malaysia, Thailand and Taipei youth orchestra.
The music festival in Miyakojima has also led to concerts in Mannheim, Heidelburg, Strasbourg, Cremona and Florence.
And this time, Prof.Tachiki introduced Vilmos Olah, the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra Concert Master.
I think the children of Miyakojima are really happy.
It has been 13 years since Tomomi and I moved to Miyakojima.
The new children members are increasing steadily.
I want to create a music festival in a way that the children's ability to live grows more and more.
