Just wanted to let you guys know that you're doing something REALLY good with this youtube page... My generation (current teenagers) hardly know opera exists -- let alone how cool it is. I always try to show my friends videos of cool arias, and it's great that your videos are such high quality because this generation is VERY visual and responds best to things that are aesthetically pleasing. So seriously, kudos to you guys at the met for these awesome videos.

Very opulent production. Great singing by the principals, but somehow lacking. Perhaps it's the production itself which seems to be upstaging the singers. Or perhaps it's the camera from a distance, which encompasses the stage but doesn't focus on the very important stars of the opera - which would give us a more intimate relationship with them. And in the theater one chooses where to direct one's attention, not the camera's vantage..
In your opinion it may not be the greatest opera house in the world, but it certainly is a definitive one. To get to the Met is an achievement representing hard work, talent, and blood, sweat and tears. It's not fair to begrudge these marvelously talented young singers their moment in the sun because of some negative feelings that are personally harbored..
Looking forward to this over here in Ireland! Amazing what technology can do.
The Met is quite the stage, its huge and its acoustics are fabulous, and I particularly love watching the ABT perform its great repetiore there.

Their voices are exceedingly beautiful. However, singing pupils should be taught how to take better care of their physical shape. Diet, exercise and routine should be included in their formation as a whole artist..
