Hewlett-Packard has settled another dispute concerning its printer ink cartridge technology and patents.On April 1,HP HP2-E52 announced that it had reached an agreement with Hong Kong-based Print-Rite Holdings.The dispute centered on HP's patents related to its HP 02 inkjet cartridges.Print-Rite has now agreed to stop selling similar printer ink cartridges in the United States and other countries where HP holds specific patents, according to an HP statement.No financial terms of the agreement between HP and Print-Rite were announced.
In March, HP settled similar patent disputes with three other tech companies.HP is also working to settle a number of other complaints involving other companies that sell similar types of inkjet cartridges.These ink cartridge patent disputes stem from a complaint HP lodged with the United States HP2-E52 International Trade Commission in September.HP remains the world's largest producer of printers and the inkjet cartridges that are used with these machines.In the first financial quarter of 2010,HP's Printing and Imaging Group pulled in about $6.2 billion in revenue.
