Any FPS veterans will be familiar with the Battlefield series since the early 2000's. Developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts.
I've been playing their series since Battlefield 1942 and from there I've been in love with the series including its mods. Many maps and kills been in my collection among the years. So many technology advancements added to the engine with its "Frostbite" game engine. For instance, the launch of Battlefield 2 was a major step up for the series with its step up in game engine (back then it was still using modified Quake engine) and the scale of the multiplayer gameplay. I was among the first to play it first hand of the huge scale gameplay in a modern warfare setup. Also, the introduction of 3 new modern factions like USA, Middle East, and China to play with. Maps also way more bigger and way more tactical to play with.
In the release of BF2, the era of competitive multiplayer starting to become a huge trend or booming in the gaming industry. Events such as MLG and WCG gives players like me a chance to play on a global scale and able to develop friendships among the line. BF2 was the first game I was competitive focus in and sadly I didn't won any awards though but it still was a fun thing to experience.
Years have passed with the release of Frostbite 2 engine and the release of Battlefield 3 with its having a small-side storyline to accompany Battlefield major selling-point which is its multiplayer gameplay. Even-though the singleplayer was not received well by the community but the multiplayer was a major step from its previous games with the introduction of graphical fidelity, customisable loadouts, better clans managements and DLCs. Battlefield 3 was the game I spent the most among other Battlefield series because of the scale of the game. It still serves as one of the biggest release from DICE.

Now, DICE is about to release Battlefield 4 and Frostbite 3 to the world. It introduces more refine engine and bigger scale of gameplay from the previous Battlefield 3. DICE introduces "Levolution" which makes environmental destructions and could impact the surroundings environment to affect the gameplay and tactics. The game will be released 29th October 2013 on PC, Xbox 360 & PS3.
