Reflection #3
This winter term of RCA was my last RCA class. This term was very impressive for me.
In winter term, we read Wennberg and Ogata & Celss writings and I learned many things from theses writing. For example, writing of Wennbrg is about euthanasia. I did not know the word, euthanasia, and its concept until I read this. Moreover, I learned a lot of ideas or problems about euthanasia from Wennberg, for instance, there were two ideas among Christian people because they can recognize the Ten Commandments as the both ideas, agreement and disagreement on euthanasia. In addition, reading of Wennberg’s writing gave me an opportunity to think about euthanasia deeply. It is very difficult to decide that euthanasia is right or not. However, I chose the answer that I agree with euthanasia and, at the same time, I thought I would like to listen to other people’s opinion to have confidence in my idea. Besides, reading Ogata & Celss’ writing on Human Security also gave me knowledge about the world situation of conflict or poverty. I learned that there are many kinds of issues in this world and that these issues are related with not only developing countries but also developed countries. In addition, having presentation improved my knowledge more deeply. Namely, in this term, I have thought about the issues of wide fields from familiar issue to global issues through Wennberg and Ogata & Celss readings, moreover, this experience is good experience growing me.
Winter term was also challenging for me, especially, portfolio is challenging. It is because the style of portfolio is different from spring and autumn term’s portfolio in this term. It was slight difficult for me because I have no experience using blog. However, as a result of this, I learned how to use blog and how to show good appearance which is easy to see.
In conclusion, I realized that RCA have taught me not only culture but also importance of thinking critically by looking back my process of RCA in winter term.
