The Wonderful Wizard of Oz の続編、 The Marvelous Land of Oz から The Emerald City of Oz までを読み終えました。
読書記録として読んだ本の題名を書いておきます。
・The Marvelous Land of Oz
・ Ozma of Oz
・ Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz
・ The Road to Oz
・ The Emerald City of Oz
ライマン・フランク・ボームが書いたシリーズは14冊あるんですが、第6巻の The Emerald City of Oz で一旦完結しているようですね。調べると、その後も子どもたちの熱烈なリクエストがあり、続編を書いたみたいです。
総じて読みやすいんですが、たまに面白い表現やわけのわからない表現が出てきたりします。
”This should be a warning to you never to think, for unless one can think wisely it is better to remain a dummy-which you most certainly are.”

下の方は何を言っているのかよく分からないと思いますが、本編を読んでいてもよく分かりません。ちょっとへんてこりんな人のセリフです。
オズ・シリーズを読むのは一旦ここで終了します。
