As we know, Jakarta has been struck by massive flood last week, and I felt worried about this concert. But God has His own plan, so this concert still being held yesterday. Praise the Lord!

This concert started with a solo from Kak Elsa, performing Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro aria. Kak Elsa went back from Hungary last year, we could hear her improvement from the past concerts :)

Once again Kevin Suherman made an appearance in New Year's Concert at ASJ. Since 2010, he has been appointed as soloist at ASJ, and played numerous famous repertoire like Chopin Piano Concerto no. 1, Beethoven Piano Concerto no. 5, and this year he performed Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto no. 1. This prodigy pianist impressed everyone with his technique, he chose Italian hand-made piano Fazioli which known for its bright sound.
Even before he finished the song, some people started to applause.

UNFORTUNATELY, he refused to play some song :( Last year he played Liszt's Liebestraum before he performed Beethoven's Emperor concerto.

The 2nd part started with Radetzky March and sweet waltz from Johann Strauss, Jr: Vienna Wood Waltz. Love the cello part :3
and it continued to Dvořák's Symphony no. 9 from the New World. Impressive!

Pak Tong gave us Radetzky March encore like the usual tradition of WienPhil New Year's Concert. And everyone started to clap their hand. It felt like you're in Vienna, FUN :D though I really wanted to hear the Blue Danube, unfortunately it was performed by ci Wen Xin 2 years ago; so it wasn't performed again yesterday :(

A great concert to start this year.

Sola gratia.

:)
Prosit Neujahr to everyone :)
I spent my New Year's eve with... practising cello.
It's kind of fun, actually :D
I made some resolutions, and pray that all of those resolutions are not against God's will.
May God bless us with His grace through this year.
2012 was a tough year, but with God I could make it through.

"For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen."
-Romans 11:36

Soli Deo gloria.

:)
Merry Christmas, though is kind of late :)

Last week I was busy with NREC (22-25 Dec), thank God that I was able to join, since it was His grace for me, and not all the people really attended NREC.

The sermons were really strengthen me.

And the Baroque Christmas Concert! The “Christmas Oratorio” was a big success, but Cantata 147 was a little disappointing :’( yet they sang “Jesus bleibet meine Freude” beautifully, praise the Lord :)

Here’s some text from Bach’s Christmas Oratorio. Let us pondering the real meaning of Christmas through this beautiful text: Emmanuel (God be with us) :)

Ach mein herzliebes Jesulein,
Ah little Jesus dear to my heart,
Mach dir ein rein sanft Bettelein,
make for yourself a clean, soft bed,
Zu ruhn in meines Herzens Schrein,
to rest in the shrine of my heart
Dass ich nimmer vergesse dein!
so that I may never forget you!

- Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, part 1
My new favorite playlist for Christmas: O Come, O Come Emmanuel
This hymn tells us how to welcoming Christmas with the true spirit; a sinners who long for the coming of the Savior.
Super sweet, I cried during singing this hymn :')

O come, O come, Emmanuel,
And ransom captive Israel,
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear.

Rejoice! Rejoice!
Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel.
Once again, God reveal His unfailing love and His great mercy to us, the sinners who don't believe in His sovereignty in our life. Have mercy on us, o God!

Such a sweet consolation comes from above; like a Israel longing for the coming of the Messiah to give them the salvation from God. And the Savior was given unto them :')

Help my unbelief o God :")

Today we celebrate Christmas at FIRES! :D

I love the LORD, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy.
-Psalms 116:1
