生活の面では、車がなくて困ることなど何もなかった。問題が出てきたのは仕事の面で移住を始めて１ヶ月程がたった頃だ。それまでは主に社内で事務的な作業をしていたが徐々に営業の為に外に出ることを求められた。車を運転できない私は即座に「ヤバイな。。。」と思ったが、さらに予想外の言葉を耳にする
「基本、営業の外回りは原付きだから！」
確かに普通自動車免許を持っていれば原付きには乗れる。法律的には何の問題もないだろう。しかし私にとってはそんな紙の上のことなどどうでもいいのだ。私の中で原付は「危ない」イメージしかない。実際に一度も乗った事がない乗り物で交通量の多い初めての場所を走る勇気はなかった。
さらに原付きでの営業の件をのらりくらりといいのがれていた私にさらなる試練が襲いかかる。
