こんな切ない歌詞で始まるこの歌は、
30年前に Barry Manilow （バリー・マニロウ）が歌った
「Can't Smile Without You」
「あなたがいなければ笑えない」（1978）

（この歌は、バリー・マニロウが歌う2年前（1976）に
　The Carpenters（カーペンターズ）がアルバム「A Kind of Hush 」の中で歌っています）

あなたがうれしいと、自分もうれしい　
あなたが悲しいと自分も悲しい…

私と一緒にいるときは、笑顔が絶えないだぁりんですが、
離れている今、家でも会社でも笑顔になる機会がありません

だから今はね、毎日1時間ちょっとのウェブキャムトークで、
PCスクリーンに私を見ながらのおしゃべりタイムが、
だぁりんにとっては、とっても貴重な「唯一の笑顔タイム」です

私が日本に帰国してからずーっと、そういう状況なので、
ごく最近この歌を耳にした時だぁりんは、
一字一句が自分の感情そのままだと聞き入ってしまったそうです。

きっと、同じような状況の人はみんな同じ気持ちなんでしょうね


そうそう、歌詞といえば

だぁりんと私が一緒にいる時、
何でも笑いころげて済ませる私を見るたび、
だぁりんもつられて笑いながら、こう言ってよく私をからかいます。
