3日間も空白を作ってしまいました。家族全員でマインスイーパーにはまって競いあっていました笑
さて、今回は出発時期についてです。当然、希望に満ちている留学生は早く出発したいと思っているでしょう。自分もそうでした。ただ期待しすぎると大きな落とし穴が待っているので注意して下さい。
早くて7月の終わり、大半が8月の中旬～終わりにまでに、そして遅いと9月出発だとYFUオリエンテーションで伝えられたはずです。ただこんなの信じないで下さい。前の記事にも書きましたがとにかく日本のYFUは仕事が遅い、ベストは尽くしてくれますが生徒への配慮も欠けることがあります。基本的に出発は9月初旬と考えておいて下さい。変に早い出発を期待するとそうでなかった場合の喪失感が大きいです。自分はかなり遅い出発だったので出発が決まらない時期は病んでいました。
ただYFU語学キャンプに参加することでいくらか出発時期を早めることが出来ます。キャンプは10日で20万とやや高額ですがこのキャンプに参加することで参加しない者よりも早く出発出来ます。58期の場合は、アメリカ派遣約100人のうち80人ほどが参加したと聞きました。50人が7月の終わりに出発し、残りの30人が8月20日頃に出発しました。キャンプに参加しない生徒は基本的にその後です。58期はキャンプに参加した生徒間でも出発に3週間の遅れが出てしまいました。同じ金額を払っているのですから同時期に出発するべきだと思いますが。自分は金額の問題もあり参加しませんでしたが、今思えば参加すれば良かったと思います。ただ留学は期間よりも質です。長くいるからと行って英語がその分上達するわけではありません。
自分は9月10日に出発しましたが、自分よりも遅い出発組が10名ほどいました。58期は全体的に出発が遅れたようです。

Anyway, today is talking about the time you leave your own country. All student who are filled with expectation wanna leave earlier. However, YFU students from Japan shouldn't expect so much. I may be told that Earliest group is gonna leave the end of July , almost student are gonna do until the end of August and the rests are on September. But you should not believe such a joke. As I described last time, YFU Japan works slowly, they always try to do their best for us, but sometimes they have a lack of conscience. Constantly, you ought to think of your time of leaving as on September. If you expect too much, you will get huge disappointment. I was so mad because my flight was set up on September.
However, there is a way to make it early to leave. That is to participate into YFU champ. The champ costs 200000yen for 10 days but you can leave earlier than those who are not gonna do. In 58th students, 80 of 100 students joined the champ. 50 students left at the end of July, and the others 30 did around Aug, 20. The rest who didn't go to champ left later than them. I didn't participate into it because of cost but I actually regretted not to join it. Though, the term doesn't effect so much. The most important is the quality of life.
I had left Japan on Sep,10 and there were about ten student who didn't leave yet.
