お父さん譲りのシニカルで呟くような話し方。

I always played music.
I really got into guitar when I was about eight.
And then it was just … it was on.
My dad, he kind of taught me chords and let me go. You know.
ずっと音楽を演ってきたよ。
8歳ぐらいの時にギターに嵌って、それ以来火が点いたんだ。
父は、僕にコードを教えてくれて、その後は自由に弾かせてくれた感じだった。
I love the blues, you know, and I always really got into Robert Johnson and Leadbelly and...you know. My dad always said, 'If you can't play a 12-bar blues, then you're no use to anyone."
ブルースが大好きで、ロバート・ジョンソンやレッドベリーにはかなり嵌ったよ。
父にはいつも言われていた。「12小節のブルースが弾けなければ誰も相手にしてくれないよ。」ってね。
And that's kind of why I chose this one because it's the same vein as every blues song that's ever been made, you know. It was his take on that when he was probably younger than I am now.
それがこの曲を選んだ理由の一つかな。ブルースの流れを汲んだ曲だから。これは父のテイクで、当時の父は恐らく今の僕よりも若かったんだよね。
I don't usually sing stuff that's my dad's because the voices have a similar cadence.
父の持ち歌はあまり歌わないようにしているんだ。なぜかと言うと、声の抑揚がそっくりだからね。
So I brought this guy. It's not going to sound the same because it's not the same instrument that's playing in it. Let's have a little different acoustic feel to it.
だから今日はこいつを持ってきた。同じ楽器じゃないから同じには聞こえないはずだ。ちょっと違うアコースティック感を加えたいんだ。
