Last Day at Yellow Ruby :_(
Soooo today is officially my last day at Yellow Ruby - my 10th and final week. The past few weeks have flown by and although I am tired and ready to see friends and family back in America, I will miss this place very very much. I must find time in the very near future to come back for a visit....it is just too strange to think about how I will be on an airplane headed home in just 4 short days. I really had a lot of fun working and learning here at YR and will miss everyone a lot. I suppose life must go on, but at the very least I have great memories that I will take with me; ones that I will keep forever.
I just came back from a last lunch at a cute cafe with きよ and ゆうすけ, which was very nice. I have a few more hours here then Im back to my dorm to study for tomorrow`s final Japanese oral exam. The さよなら party for IES (my study abroad program) is Friday, followed by a morning at 築地 fish market and brunch in 赤坂 with my friends Becky and Elle on Saturday (which will then be followed by much packing). I will say my goodbyes to all my Ayase dorm buddies (Kathleen, Sonia, and Jean especially) and by Saturday, I will be on my way to Narita Airport. My semester in Tokyo was everything I hoped it would be, plus more- and I am extremely thankful to have had this wonderful opportunity. I have learned so much about so many different aspects of life during the past 4 months that I cannot even begin to understand the impact it has had / will have on my life at this time. So now I am going to end this entry before it gets way too long to translate! haha....
Goodbye Yellow Ruby and Tokyo! I am leaving now, but I will be back -
very soon.
Update from here at YR!
Helllllo!!
Today I am at Yellow Ruby once again for another Wednesday! I havent written anything on here for a while - but believe me, a lot has been going on none the less. During the past couple of weeks I have done everything from taking a class trip to Okinawa for a 3 night stay, to wonder around Tokyo in search of anything new to see (there is a lot; every little area is so different from the next), to making sure I keep up with all my work for all my classes at Kanda! Of course, I have also been coming to intern at YR every week.... which is still doing a great job of breaking up my extremely busy weeks. A couple weeks ago I was fortunate enough to go out after work with everyone from Yellow Ruby for a late Welcome party! It was a lot of fun; I tried many new foods and drinks and laughed the entire time ha! so fun and interesting. I cannot forget to mention my awesome day at Disney Sea with Becky last Tuesday...anyone who knows me well knows that I absolutely love Disneyworld back at home and had always dreamed of going to Disney in Tokyo - well my dream came true! AND it did not disappoint - it was so well done, with outstanding architecture and everything. Awesome - I wish my buddy Carolyn (who loves Disney atleast as much as I do) could have come with me! Maybe someday....so anyways I have about 3 and a half weeks left here in Tokyo so I am desperately trying to balance seeing and doing everything I want in this city with all my work and final papers I have due!! I will miss everything and everyone I have become close to - most especially the girls in my dorm and Yellow Ruby!! I still have time left to enoy, however, so I wont think about that just yet. Plus - Ill be back to Tokyo SOON! I just know it. haha the faces on this program are ridiculous....
End of day...goodbye for now!
