Y：おはようございます。さっきニュースを見たら、ダウ平均が800ポイントほど下がっているみたいですね。
J：そうですね。株式市場を除いては私の生活は好調です（笑）。
Y：でも最近では、そのくらいの変動にあまり驚かなくなってきましたね。以前には1,000ポイント以上下がったこともありましたから。
J：確かに、そういうニュースにも慣れてきた部分はありますね。とはいえ、大きな変動はやはり気になります。
Y：そうですね。ただ、どう投資するかによって感じ方は違いますし、変動の中にチャンスもあると思っています。
J：それは本当にそうです。市場全体を長い目で見れば、浮き沈みはつきものですからね。
Y：はい。この前、大きく下がったときも多くの人が買いに動いて、結果的に上昇しましたし。そういうサイクルも見てきました。
J：今はビットコインが注目されてますね。
Y：僕はビットコインにはあまり詳しくなくて…。株の方が馴染みがあるので、そちらを長く続けています。
J：その姿勢は素敵ですね。自分の理解できるものに集中するのは、投資に限らず大事なことだと思います。
Y：ありがとうございます。でも、次に大きく下がったら、少しだけビットコインにチャレンジしてみるのも面白いかもしれません（笑）。
J：そうですね。投資は「待つ」ことも一つの大切なスキルですね。
Y：ええ、普段は市場の事は気にせず、趣味を楽しみながら、のんびりしてることが多いです（笑）。
J：最近の生活はどうですか？元気ですか？
Y：おかげさまで元気にやっています。Jさんはどうですか？
J：僕も変わりなく過ごしています。市場は見るだけで、動かしてはいませんが（笑）。
Y：ところでJさん、AIって使ってますか？
J：最近少しずつですね。でも、興味はあります。Yさんはかなり使っているんですか？
Y：はい。ほぼ毎日活用しています。実は今、フィリピンのセブ市にいて、旅先でもAIでいろんな作業をしています。
J：旅行ですか？お仕事ですか？
Y：どちらも兼ねてですね。友達に会ったり、記事を書いたりしています。
J：記事ですか？どうやって書くんですか？
Y：例えば旅行記事だと、ガイドさんの話を録音して、その内容をもとにAIに下書きをまとめてもらうんです。その後、自分で感想を吹き込んで、それも下書きにする。その後、自分の手でしっかりリライトします。写真を添えて投稿すれば、完成度の高い記事になります。
J：それは便利ですね！まさに現代的な方法ですね。
Y：ありがとうございます。でも、AIに頼りすぎると、人が自分で書く力が弱くなってしまうのではという気持ちもあります。
J：確かに、そのバランスは難しいですよね。
Y：だからこそ、学生たちにはしっかりと自分の手で書く力を身につけてほしいなと思っています。
J：日本語は特に難しいですよね。漢字もあるし。
Y：ええ。個人的には、もっとシンプルにしてもいいのではと思うこともあります。でも、学ぶことで得られることも多いので、バランスが大事ですね。
J：書くことは、手で覚える部分もありますからね。
Y：そうなんです。ひらがなやカタカナなど、基本的な文字は手書きできるようにしておくと、いざというときに役立ちますし。
J：AIの使い方で、最近「プロンプト」のコツを学んだんですが、Yさんも何か工夫されてますか？
Y：はい。授業準備にもAIを活用していて、「高校生向けの英語活動のアイディアを10個出して」といった感じで使っています。とても助かっていますよ。
J：そこまで使いこなしていると、もはやパートナーですね（笑）。
Y：まさにそうですね。AIは道具として本当に有能です。
J：でも、将来的にAIが先生の仕事を代替する可能性はあると思いますか？
Y：うーん、補助はしてくれるかもしれませんが、やっぱり人間の先生がいることで、学びのモチベーションが維持されると思っています。
J：なるほど。励ましや声かけって、AIには難しいところもありますもんね。
Y：そうなんです。AIも進化していますが、「人と人とのつながり」はやはり大切ですね。
J：これから働き方もどんどん変わっていきそうですよね。
Y：そうですね。ロボットが工場や農業を支えるようになれば、人はより創造的な分野で活躍するようになるのかもしれません。
J：その変化が、誰にとってもチャンスになるといいですね。
Y：そう願っています。経済の循環を保つために、観光やエンタメなど「人と人が関わる仕事」はこれからも大切になると思います。
J：AIが音楽や文章も作るようになってきているのは、技術の進化を感じますね。
Y：そうですね。どちらも共存できる形が理想だと思います。
J：本当にそう思います。さて、政治や経済の話題もいろいろありますが、メディアの報道の仕方も含めて、丁寧に受け止めることが求められますね。

Y：日本ではお米は大事な主食なので、価格が上がると多くの家庭で関心が高まりますね。

Y: Good morning. I just saw the news — the Dow Jones is down by about 800 points today.
J: That’s right. Aside from the stock market, my life’s going pretty well! (laughs)
Y: These days, I don’t get too surprised by that kind of fluctuation. There was even a time it dropped over 1,000 points.
J: True, we’ve kind of gotten used to that kind of news. Still, large movements do catch your attention.
Y: Right. But depending on how you invest, your perspective changes. I actually see opportunities in market volatility.
J: That’s so true. If you look at the market long term, ups and downs are just part of the cycle.
Y: Yes, and the last time it dropped significantly, many people bought in, and it eventually went up again. I’ve seen that cycle many times.
J: Bitcoin seems to be getting a lot of attention these days.
Y: I’m not very familiar with Bitcoin… I’ve been more comfortable with stocks and have stuck with them for a long time.
J: That’s a great mindset. Focusing on what you understand is important—not just in investing, but in life in general.
Y: Thank you. Still, next time the market dips, I might just try investing a little in Bitcoin, just for fun! (laughs)
J: Sounds good. Waiting is also an important investment skill.
Y: Yeah, I usually try not to worry too much about the market and enjoy my hobbies. I live pretty leisurely. (laughs)
J: How have you been lately? Feeling good?
Y: I’ve been doing well, thanks. How about you, J?
J: I’ve been the same as usual. I’m just observing the market, not making any moves though. (laughs)
Y: By the way, J, do you use AI?
J: I’ve just started using it a little. I’m definitely interested though. Do you use it a lot?
Y: Yes, almost every day. Actually, I’m in Cebu, Philippines right now, and I’m using AI for various tasks even while traveling.
J: Are you traveling for fun or for work?
Y: A bit of both. I’m meeting friends and also writing some articles.
J: Articles? How do you write them?
Y: For example, if I’m writing a travel article, I record what the tour guide says, then have AI generate a draft based on that. I also add my own thoughts using voice input, and then I rewrite everything carefully myself. With some photos added, it becomes a high-quality article.
J: That’s really convenient! A very modern method.
Y: Thanks! But I sometimes worry that relying too much on AI might weaken our own writing skills.
J: I agree. Finding the right balance is definitely important.
Y: That’s why I want students to build the ability to write with their own hands.
J: Especially with Japanese—it’s so hard, with all the kanji!
Y: Yes, I sometimes think it could be simpler. But at the same time, you gain a lot through learning, so it’s all about balance.
J: There’s a physical memory that comes with writing by hand, too.
Y: Exactly. If you can write basic characters like hiragana and katakana by hand, it’s useful in many situations.
J: I’ve been learning tips on prompting AI lately. Do you have any tricks?
Y: Yes, I use AI to prepare lessons. I might ask, “Give me 10 ideas for English activities for high school students.” It’s very helpful.
J: You’re using it like a true partner! (laughs)
Y: That’s right. AI is a really powerful tool.
J: Do you think AI might eventually replace teachers?
Y: Hmm… I think it can support us, but I believe real human teachers are essential to keep students motivated.
J: True. Encouragement and emotional support are hard for AI to provide.
Y: Exactly. AI is evolving, but “human connection” remains important.
J: The way we work will probably continue changing too.
Y: Yes. With robots supporting manufacturing and agriculture, humans might focus more on creative work.
J: I hope those changes will become opportunities for everyone.
Y: I hope so too. To keep the economy circulating, jobs involving people—like tourism and entertainment—will continue to be essential.
J: AI creating music and writing is impressive. You can really feel the progress of technology.
Y: Yes. I think the ideal is for humans and AI to coexist and complement each other.
J: I couldn’t agree more. There are so many topics in politics and the economy now—how we respond to media coverage also matters.
Y: That’s true. Every word has a background. It’s important to try to understand the context.
J: Speaking of news, I heard rice prices are a hot topic lately. What’s the actual impact?
Y: In Japan, rice is a staple, so when prices go up, many families become concerned.
J: Interesting. It’s fascinating how different things are valued in each country.
Y: I think so too. And it’s wonderful to have conversations like this across countries.
