| ファニー･J･クロスビー［Fanny (Frances) Jane Crosby］(1820-1915)という全盲の女性の作詞。 このブログに何度も書いてきたが、日本語の歌詞もよいが、特にこの英語の原詩はすばらしい。私の特愛の讃美歌である。いつか歌えるような形で日本語に翻訳したいというのが私の長年の夢である。 2番の冒頭の”Perfect submission, perfect delight”は直訳すれば「全き従順、全き喜び」、 3番冒頭の”Perfect submission, all is at rest”は、「全き従順、すべてが安心」。 2番2行目、” Visions of rapture now burst on my sight”の”rapture”とは主の再臨におけるいわゆる「携挙」のこと。 Iテサ4:17の「それから生き残っているわたしたちが、彼らと共に雲に包まれて引き上げられ、空中で主に会い、こうして、いつも主と共にいるであろう。」）である。「今や、（全盲である）私の眼前（まぶた）に携挙のときの（すばらしい／輝かしい）圧倒的な光景が広がる（展開する）」。 ３番の終りにある”lost in His love”、ここを歌うと、もう感謝と喜びで胸が詰まり、涙が溢れる。しかし、これが訳出できない。いつか納得できる訳を付けたい。わずか3語であるが、自分勝手に意訳すれば、「こんな私にこれほどまでよくしてくださる主イエス、これほどまで愛してくださる主イエス、その御愛（の大きさと深さ）に私は戸惑いをさえ覚えるほどである！こんなことが本当にあってよいのかと！」。これでも意を尽くせない。まさしくAmazing Grace（驚くべき恵み）である。 |
