Here are today's two writing prompts from 642:

Your mother's most frequent advice

My response:

Seriously, just pick one? I'm sure she has hundreds of advice, and I really have no idea which one she reiterates most frequently. Let me just name a few (in recent years):
1, dress warm enough
2, eat well
3, sleep early, don't get too tired
4, don't eat too much meat, eat healthy
5, eat fruit
6, be nice to your skin
7, go out and meet people
8, stay in touch with all the important professors
9, don't be too stressed - find a balance in life
10, go exercise/go to the gym

And also,

Your father's most frequent advice

My response:

Be ambitious.

My dad is an amazing person who keeps pushing my personal development forward without being "pushy". He never likes the idea of me becoming a mundane person, yet never abandoned me when I was suffering from low grades in high school. He keeps telling me to always do my best in my academic studies, until this becomes a habit of mine.

He also believes, till today, that his daughter striving for her personal excellence is more important than marrying a guy, no matter how great my future husband could possibly be. My value always lies in what I do, and what kind of a better person I want to become -- not how much money my future husband makes, what kind of occupation he has, or which nationality his is. I think my dad has taught me the right thing, pretty much everything that I need to live a satisfactory life.
