In a nutshell, exercise is really for happiness.


I do a one-minute handstand against the wall as part of my daily exercise. When you do it two or three times in the morning, your sleepiness and tiredness go away, you feel happy, and want to do something actively. So I'm writing this now.


That might sound funny, but it's also a good example of how exercise works for the brain.
