Well, that day was the day I went to San Francisco! I drove on the highway while listening to Train! It took around 2 hours to get there. I looked for a place to eat lunch on Trip Adviser. I parked my car and I found a nice cafe. The special lunch menu was Japanese style udon. I decided not to eat it as udon is originally Japanese style. I ordered ABBA burger. I don’t know what it was exactly, but it was so delicious!! The burger was served with fresh vegetables, tomatoes, lettuce and really larger pickles. I really enjoyed it! Afterwards I went to a sightseeing spot for the Golden Gate Bridge. Visiting there was kind of exciting because the bridge always showed up in the opening on Full House that I used to often watch. I took some pictures. And I looked for a motel for that night. I found a motel leading to the route 1 and the receptionist was an elderly man. I asked him where a big shopping mall is when I checked in. He gave me a map that has some lines of the cable bus. He suggested me to go there by bus because parking downtown is expensive. He also changed my money to some 1 dollar bills. According to him they don’t give me change. What a nice person!! I went downtown by bus. I went shopping around Union Square. I bought some souvenirs for my coworkers and some clothes. In the meantime I got hungry so I went to a Jazz bar specialized in sea food. I had some wonderful sea food dishes and the local beer with nice music in the background. I was going to go back straight to the hotel by bus. But I realized that I lost my map… I don’t know where I came here from. But I had a card key for my room written the name of the hotel. So I swung several times to catch a taxi. But no one stopped. First of all I looked for a bus stop and asked a stranger to help me out. She suggested to take a bus and told me that she takes me around the hotel on her way back home. We had a conversation in the bus. I thanked her and finally safely got back to the hotel.
Next day, I went back to Sacramento to meet my friend again. We went to In N Out to have lunch. It’s only for California. I had a burger and fries served with animal styled sauce. Now I miss it. After that she took me to the high school she used to go to.There is a Japanese class as an extra curriculum activity. They invited me to the class to help with their Japanese learning. Around 30 students asked me many questions in Japanese and I answered. Whether I have a girlfriend or not, my favorite kind of food etc… One student asked how old I am. I asked back him how old I look. He said 19 and ask me how I stay looking young. I don’t know!! “But everyone in Japan looks younger than their age.” I answered. No wonder, every time I ordered some alcohol they asked me to show them my ID. So I said I became 28 today as it was my birthday in the US on that day. All students and the teacher sang a birthday song to me together and gave me some lovely candies!! It made me so happy. I had a really wonderful birthday! Time went by so fast and I had to leave Sacrament. I had lots of fun in the city. We said good bye to each other and I headed back to L.A by myself. When I was passing the freeway I saw some wild animals…maybe cows? 7 hours later, I got caught in rush hour near LA. I just forgot that there tends to be a lot of traffic. There is the place I have to visit that night.. I stepped on the gas while imagining I was eating chicken wings between big boobs. I somehow made it. This place was kind of my final destination on this trip. It was Hooters! The chicken was amazing and I fell in love with Blue Cheese Dressing and curly fries. I took some pictures with Hooter’s girls. It was an unforgettable night. I went back to the hotel downtown in Los Angeles. I drank some mojito at a poolside bar inside the hotel. I got tipsy and went to bed. There was only one day I can spend the whole day.
Next morning I went to Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. It was too early to go there so I looked for a cafe to fill in the time. I asked a guy getting out of Porsche where the nearest coffee shop is. He took me there and bought me a cup of coffee. We talked a lot on the terrace. He has a Japanese wife and has been to Japan many times. He invited me to his clothing shop later. After I left, I went to Hollywood to take the Hollywood sign photos. On the way back from there, I had a flat tire. It sucked!!! When I was looking for some tools, someone saw me having some trouble and talked me like “Hey, you need some help?” He helped me change a tire. I don’t know what would have done without him. I really appreciated it! Afterwards I visited the clothing shop and talked with him and his wife. As I mentioned earlier the day before I had a birthday, so his wife gave me a T-shirt from one of the goods for sale. That was an amazing birthday present!! I deeply thanked them and left. I went to Santa Monica to buy some souvenirs. I bought some and took many pictures. The sunset at the beach in Santa Monica was really beautiful! It was just like the California I watched in dramas. Well, I finally returned my car and had the last dinner in the US. I had steaks at a restaurant called Flaming’s next to the hotel I stayed at. Last night the bartender told me the steaks there is like Kobe-beef. It was totally learn meat and not close to kobe beef. It was still delicious though. After that I went to the bar. My vacation was about to end. I looked back at this trip while drinking some mojito. Every time I screwed up someone always helped me. Everyone took good care of me. I wouldn’t be able to have such a wonderful trip without them. Seriously I was really surprised by their kindness. I’m very thankful for that and just want say “thank you” to everyone I met. I love California. I need to see more aspects of this country. I decided to come to USA again. Yes, my adventure in the US has just started.
